Am I being unfair in this situation (details)?

About a month ago, I proposed to my friends that we celebrate my birthday this Tuesday (26th of May) as a group. They all agreed, and said they were all free that day.

Today, it transpires that one of them has made alternative plans for the 26th since she agreed to my plans - she made them on May 10th, to be precise. Am I being unfair in that I'm angry about this and intend to go ahead with my celebration this Tuesday, whether she's free or not?

Yes, of course. You go ahead and enjoy your party.

You wouldn't want a such a thoughtless person there anyway.

Yes it is obvious that you are angry because you have proposed that you will celebrate your birthday on 26th of May. I would do the same what you did. Happy birthday in advance.

    yes you should go ahead.

she has made her choice but find out why before you give her a hard time.

it may be about her idea of how important birthdays are (or should be)

maybe she gets depressed about birthdays and doesnt want to bring everyone down

not everyone puts a lot of priority on them.

i like gordon 33's attitude . assume she is sincere in her regret and save her some cake

    very nice positive outlook.

You are definitely right. She shouldn't have made other plans, and it would unfair to yourself to not go on and celebrate. You deserve a good birthday with or without her.

Yes! You should be annoyed but when ever did a birthday get 100% attendance? Just you enjoy with the friends attending.
