why didnt i get the job?

well i applied for a position at harrahs casino to be a cocktail waitress...i had to go through about 3 interviews and after the three they said i did well with all and chances are i would be getting the job but i had to do a realistic walk through (me walking and watching another cocktail waitress while they re working) so after that was done i told them i would love to take the position and my availability is open. about a week later a lady called me back and said they aren't going through with employment because they found other people that availability fits there needs better at the time. well my question is how should i go about getting the position now because im really really interested in the poposition would love to take the postion and think i would be great at it...what do you think i should

I think that was code for "we found someone with a better body (or bigger boobs)".

They could be honest when they said ' someone with better availability'. When an employer is looking for potential employees, they are looking mainly at your work attitude, work ethics, experience and availability (which also includes punctuality) When they find that you may have all of the above, except for the availability then they will move to the next best thing.

Im sorry you didnt get the position, but maybe you can call the manager who interviewed you and ask to keep you in mind when the next position opens up. That way he will keep you in mind.

If they said they found someone with 'better availability' and you said your availability was open ... it sounds like they were being nice. That might be there standard way of saying they don't want you.

It's POSSIBLE there was a misunderstanding, so you could try to get back to someone. Ask if there was a misunderstanding or if they found someone they felt was more appropriate (be nice about it). If they seem like they really were interested, let them know you are still looking and if there is another opening you'd be interested.

Maybe your qualifications were good but then as soon as you left someone else came in that completely fit the discription. Its ok. Really, it is.

You cant get yourself down about this. Its all part of a bigger picture. Trust me, everything will work out.

Be confident. Be honest. Be you.

  • okay. here is the thing when you go to a job interview they look at everything. the cloths your wearing, how old your shows are, you body shape, your style, your age, your past, everything you can think of they look at that. and if you think their was no reason not to hire you then hey missed out on something good.

Source(s): my daddy works with ford and gives people interview when they look for jobs. he tells me everything he does.

I would probably continue to call them just so they know you're serious about it
