IDE DVD drive converted to SATA?

I recently did a Major upgrade on my desktop new Mother Processor Ram ,my problem is I have three IDE drives and only one IDE connector the mother board has two SATA connectors so I bought an Adaptor I tried using it with the hard drive that didn't work so I put it on the DVD drive windows shows the drive is present the drive detects a disk when I install one , when I try to play a movie or a music cd I get a error message saying windows does not recognize file format ( ) Help please !

    it is not going that your motherboard has in basic terms a million SATA port. New motherboards normally have a million IDE port and quite a few different (4 or greater SATA) ports. The a million IDE port is robust for 2 IDE instruments. you ought to purchase an exterior case that converts your IDE to USB. Why do you desire 2 DVD drives? i could ditch one, positioned a million DVD force and a million stressful force on your IDE port, and then the different force use an exterior case and connect via USB.

    rather than buy an adapter, you should just buy a new drive for $25. SATA dvd drives are super cheap.
