what the hell was he thinking?

Yesterday I saw something on the news where a father is being charged with child abuse because he took his 4 year old son to a tattoo parlor and had them tattoo "Daddy's Boy" on the child. This is seriously disturbing. I think he should get a lot of time in prison for this. What does everyone else think?

The tattoo parlor actually did it !?!?!? That's insane!!!

It's crazy of the dad but it's also disturbing that the parlor would do that and not say no.

The way the economy is right now we really can't afford to put him in prison for this but he needs some serious help.....supervised visitation for sure.

I think you have your story a little mixed up, if I found the one you are referring to that is. It was a 3 yr old and his father had tattooed a db on the boys shoulder supposedly it stands for "Daddy's Boy".

Here is a link to what I found:

    http://www.11alive.com/rss/rss_story.aspx?storyid=...

I also found a link about a father who tattooed his 7 yr old w/a gang sign on his son as well:

I have no clue what people are thinking when they do half the things we read or see in the news. I think there are way too many frigged up individuals out there, is what I think.

Edit: No, the tattoo parlor did not do it, the father held the kid down screaming for him to stop while he applied the tattoo, the Batsturd.

    OMG!!

    This is so serious.

Imagine we seem to have evolved to the place where we think branding our will or desire on another person can actually do something.

Does the father think this is whats needed to make him a good dad?Even if the father suffered from temporary DADelirium or stress from being a dad. What's the excuse of the artist?

Is the buck soo very important to this dude he couldn't say he had an age requirement?

I feel so sorry for this poor kid.

    WHERE is his mom?

I'm 37 and would love to have a tattoo but it's just too much pain for me to consider going through...

Yeah, exactly---what could you have in your head that would make you think it's okay to put a 4 year old child through that much pain???

What is being done to the owner of the shop? They should be in trouble, too...

I don't know if it requires prison time. Tattooing isn't all too different from ear piercing, is it? Parents get their 4 year old's ears pierced every day. Still... who could inflict that kind of pain on a four year old?

I think the punishment has to fit the crime. You say "a lot" of prison time? Is that really appropriate? Obviously the father exercised bad judgement, but does it go to the point of incarceration for an extended period of time? If that's the case, then there would not be enough jails in the entire country to hold every violator. The boy still deserves a father, even if the father is a pretty crude guy. That's life. My father was no box of chocolates, but I would not have wanted him to go to jail for some of the mistakes he made raising me.

I have plenty of tattoos, my children see them and want their own...I give them temporary tattoos..... The artist should lose his license for this, they do not have to tattoo everyone that comes in to the store and he/she should have used discretion.

i think that is the worst thing in the world, he should be in jail and never see his son again , i have 2 boys and would never think about a tattoo i don't even want them to get one later in life but then they are 18 teen i cant do any thing about it.

Yeh i do that could've been really painful for the poor kid....Owwwww...when i got my first it hurt soo i think both idiots(tattoo artist & father) should get jail time...!!!!
