07 ford focus stereo install questions?
Okay I bought an 07 ford focus yesterday.I'm preparing to install my own system.I have all the equipment I installed in my 02 Saturn SL1{My first install ever}.Just a few quick questions. First my positive post on my battery has a nut screwed onto the top of it. Meaning I don't need a battery terminal right? Just clip a ring on the end of the power cable and slide it over the bolt part right?Next the dash looks like it's all one piece. In my saturn the dash came in 3 pieces very easy to take apart.I can only find like 2 screws I'm concerned I might have some problems there. Also walmart doesn't stock a wiring harness. Should I just check some audio stores or shop online to see if there even is a wiring harness for my car?And lastly for anyone who's installed in an 07 focus are there any other concerns or comments I should be aware of before I take on this task.Thnx in advance.
Also does my car have DIN radio requiring the removal tools sold by walmart? If so how hard is this process my saturn never required this?

I'll try and answer your questions in the order that they were asked.
1. It'll be fine to just ad a ring terminal to your positive wire, and attach it at the nut on the post.
2. The radio trim bezel is only one piece. It should be just pressure clips. If I remember correctly, there aren't any screws that need to be removed. You can remove them just to play it safe though.
3. You can check around at local audio shops for the wiring harness. The one thing you'll need to determine is whether or not you'll need an amp integration harness. If you want a reliable place to get harnesses online I'd check installer.com for any parts.
4. One thing that is common with Ford is turn on pop when dealing with a factory amplified system. A new deck will use 12 volts to turn on the factory amplifier, when Ford amplifiers only want 6 volts. To solve the issue you'll need to use a resistor to reduce the amount of voltage.
5. Final question. You won't be using Ford removal keys. The factory radio is held in by 4 9/32 screws which will be visible once the radio trim bezel is removed.

I actual have a 2001 concentration SE and the radio is extraordinarily stable. i admire listening to music, so i prefer a stable stero gadget. the only difficulty is as quickly as I turn too quickly by using stations, it immediately shuts off, yet besides that i like it.
