What to do when crayons go through the clothes dryer?

As another poster suggested, WD-40 can remove melted crayon from clothing. Dab WD-40 on the crayon stain, then put liquid dishwashing soap on the stain and let it soak for several minutes. Then wash the clothing normally. Unfortunately, you must do this for every single stain on the garment. But it does work--my daughter left a red crayon in a garment pocket and everything in the dryer had red blotches on it as a result. You may have to decide whether the clothing is worth saving in this instance.

If there are crayon stains in the dryer itself, running it (empty) until the wax begins to melt, then rubbing the wax off, is the best method.

Always check the pockets of the garments you are washing, even if your "kid" is in her late teens!

I had the same issue not long ago. I took three wet towels--ran them for 15 minutes shots, then went in and wiped the surface with the hot, damp towels while the crayons were easy to get up. Ran one last load just to make sure--everything looks A-OK.

Try WD40 which is found in the automotive section of the typical department store. Spray it on and rub a lot with a cotton rag.
