Has Malkin practically already won the Conn Smythe?

Unless he single handily loses the series for the Pens, I cant see anyone else winning. Even if the Wings win the cup, I still see Malkin getting MVP. Theres really not one person for the Wings that stands out for it (Franzen? Ozzy? Lidstrom?). What do you think?

If he continues to play the way he has played this series, then yes, he's probably won in either way.

Any decline in play and the Wings win, I would give it to whoever plays the best in the last few games out of Zetterberg, Franzen and Osgood.

And if Crosby outplays him in the final few games and the Penguins win, I'd say its a tossup between those two. Crosby would probably get it because he stepped up when it really mattered, and has the 'C'.

So by no means do I think he's got it wrapped up.

I am a Red wings fan and I think Ozzy should have gotten the Conn Smythe but if I had to do a top five I would do Chris Osgood first Henrik Zetterburg second Sidney crosby Third Nick Lidstrom 4th and Evegeni Malkin 5th

  • Malkin had two very good finals game. Osgood had two very good finals games. In my opinion no one else on either team has stood out to a great enough degree to get consideration, but neither of those two outshines the other until we play the next two games. If Malkin helps PIT bring the Cup home, he'll get it. It Osgood helps it stay in DET, he should get it - unless someone else comes in with 2-3 fantastic games (Crosby, Datsyuk, etc.).

But Malkin only shined in PIT - so it's too soon to start engraving.

It's Malkin,,,remember even if the Wings win, one of the Penguins can win the Conn Smythe.

Gotta appreciate someone nominating a guy like Scuderi, even tho Fleury really needs shackled to his net. Talbot would be a great nomination too.

But seriously, Malkin definately deserves it so far. If the Pens lose, it has to go to Osgood.

I agree with this mostly, at this point it would be hard to vote against Geno regardless of the outcome of the series. There are at least 2 games left, most likely 3,so lets let those play out first, but geno has to be on top of most if not all lists right at the moment.

No Finals loser should win the Conn Smythe...like in 2003. Gigieure wins it over Brodeur who played better and won.

Pens win...Crosby will win it, even though Malkin should.

Det. Wins..Hossa wins it, but OZZY should.

well....malikin is the best on his team...and has earned a spot.i wouldn't disagree

man...for the wings,i would say helm has played the best so far...and he's in the minors most of the year.

the wings really play better as a whole unit...each bringing their own special play.

Source(s): crosby aint even close....i put him behind at least ten other players...some on his own team scuderi for one fluery for two wings fan here in detroit

Hard to pick Malkin when Crosby has done just as good if not better.

UOF is RIGHT! Crosby has been the Pittsburgh's best player this postseason....AND the playoffs best player.
