What are some advantages and disadvantages of using Genome Analysis to identify an inherited cancer gene?
Using the techniques PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA sequencing
(by the way, it is a stomach cancer gene. I ran out of characters)

Well with PCR you are able to amplify the gene. When you run it on a gel you are able to get its size ( in number of base pairs.) And you can sequence it to see if the product is indeed the gene you wanted to look at. Then you can compare it to the database and see if there are others similar to it.
Disadvantages: You wouldn't have much more information than that. You wouldn't be able to see the level of expression (you would need to do an RT-PCR followed by densitometry - or microarray technology) You wouldn't know really anything about the protein product itself besides the amino acid sequence (which doesn't help much in determining its tertiary structure and its function)
