Non-stick Cookware...?
My non-stick Griddle has burnt on grease that I can't get off... I use Pam with it even though the directions say to never use any oil or non-stick spay on it but if I don't use the spay my pancakes won't come up. How do I get the burnt grease off & should I keep using the Pam on my non-stick cookware or not?

Cooking spray can leave a gummy residue. Let the griddle soak in warm soapy water and then try cleaning it. Stop using the cooking spray and the gummy residue will disappear with more cleaning. Make sure when you pre-heat your griddle to use medium heat, not high. Take your food out of the refrigerator 10-15 minutes prior to cooking. Putting frozen or very chilled food into a warm pan will cause it to stick instantly. If you still must used something on the griddle try using some extra virgin olive oil.

Better quality nonstick will absolutely last a lifetime. Analon and Calphalon being my personal favorites.I have used my 10" Calphalon skillet every day for almost 9 years and it is still perfect perfect perfect. BUT... 1)NEVER EVER wash pan till it cools to room temperature. 2)NO aerosol sprays 3)no metal 4) NO high heat 5)no dishwasher I think maybe you could be cooking on too high of a heat. That will certainly cause a tar-like appearance and flaking. The heavier and better the pan, the lower heat you can use. Also, there are degreasing dish soaps(I like dawn direct foam) that you can rub onto a pan, let sit, then rinse after an hour or so. The foam absorbs the grease. I love it. Farberware does not make good nonstick. They use Teflon, the least durable of all nonstick coatings. Go to Williams&Sonoma or Bed Bath and Beyond and buy a nice set of nonstick. Both stores will let you exchange any damaged pans that have a lifetime warranty. If you use your new pans and they ruin after only a couple years, they will give you new ones. Just hold onto your receipt. You will make more of an investment up front, but you will never have to buy ever again. AND they will cook things more evenly. A very good frypan is a thing of beauty.

You could try putting a bit of brown cola on it. Heat the cola till it bubbles a little, and scrub the burned off stuff with something that won't leave scratches. And yes, keep using Pam. The so-called "non-stick" surfaces are a load of crap. False advertisement really.

I hate nonstick. eventually they stop working and even if you do get that grease off you will start eating the chemicals that make the "non stick". Go get cast iron. they truly work and they will not make you sick and not stick if taken care of. a bit more of investment but trust me worth it

soak it in the sink in hot water and soap, then when it's loose use a green pad and rub gently .
