When submitting an appeal on the Yahoo! Answers Appeal Form?

When the Submit button is clicked, is the user supposed to receive a message indicating that the appeal was successfully submitted? Or, is the user taken back (without any message) into a blank appeal form?

When I hit the submit button to appeal a violation notice, I was taken back to the appeal form, with all the fields blank. There was no "success" message of any kind. This makes me wonder if I have to re-submit.

Thanks for answering.

Update:

And, I did not receive an email from yahoo acknowledging that my appeal was submitted, not even in my spam folder.

Update 2:

Thanks, Spanky. I guess you can tell I don't usually appeal violations.

Update 3:

Thank you for answering, Ms. Angel.

Update 4:

I know, Jelly. I've sent you a message. :)

Kitkat, I guess I've spared you from wasting points on a question. (((Kitkat)))

No.. you need to resubmit. There is always a "thankyou" screen warning you that youve lost points for asking to appeal..

I submitted an appeal last week and it seems as though it didn't go through, so later the same day I submitted the appeal and it gave a message that I had already filed an appeal for the it. I did not receive an email or anything from Yahoo.

I did receive an email today letting me know (which I already knew) that I wasn't in violation.

It is Yahoo users that do the reporting and Yahoo only auto replies in response to someone submitting a abuse report. I had this happen and when I contacted customer care I still get a non human auto response.

  • Yes, Yahoo typically sends a follow-up message thanking you for stating your case. It also says something about your appeal being reviewed, etc. In many cases, you would have better luck holding an intelligent conversation with a bag of doritos than getting your question reinstated.

To add insult to injury, they usually come back with, "Indeed your question was in violation of Y!A TOS, please refer to our community guidelines." I think some of us know the TOS better than the Y!A staff. I know I do.

Everything that all of our friends here said is true. And I have appealed many times, and well here I am again with a new phucking account. Shows how well that $hit works.
