I heard that if I can avoid something I'm allergic too for 2 years I won't be alergic to them any more.?
I miss home, but my allergies are really extreme this time of year, what should I do?

uhm... no... sorry... if anything massive over exposure would more likely help suppress the symptoms of an allergic reaction...
I WOULD NOT SUGGEST OVER EXPOSURE BECAUSE IT MIGHT KILL YOU... depending on severity of reaction.
P.S. you want to not too

I feel your pain. I have severe allergies, but I've never heard that avoiding something you're allergic to for two years will make the allergy go away. You have a few choices. If you know you'll come into contact with something during a certain season, you can use nasal sprays and/or antihistamines (Benadryl, Claritin, Allegra, etc.) during that time to reduce your symptoms just as needed.
If you want to try to "cure" your allergy so it won't affect you so much you can see a doctor who specializes in allergies. My Dr. mixes up allergy drops that I take every day to help make me less sensitive to the stuff I'm allergic to. Working great so far. I've been taking them for six months and don't have to take anything else anymore. After you do this type of "immunotherapy" for a couple of years, then I think some Drs think you won't have to have as much treatment after that point. That might be the 2-year time limit you're thinking of. Hope this helps.

Not completely. Sometimes it is possible for you to outgrow or overcome an allergy, but in most cases your stuck with it. My mom was never allergic to shellfish until her late 20's, the almost 15 years later she was able to eat it again. She'd tried periodically here and there, but then magically no more allergy.
