Virgin Broadband Users: Is this Normal?
Hi, I got connected to Virginmedia wireless broadband today. However I noticed that the 'send' light on the cable modem is constantly flickering, as well as the green internet light on the wireless router. This happens even when my computer is turned off!
Is this normal? On my old internet none of the lights flashed unless you were actually using it. I would be grateful if any other Virgin users could let me know if their modem does the same! Thanks :)

Yes, it's normal. I'm no virgin, sorry but I think I have the answer your looking for.
The reason your modem and router lights are always flickering is due to the modem and router always talking to each other.
With an always on Internet connection, you computer, modem and router are always sending messages back and forth. Most of it is just "Hi I'm still on and here is my address".
So you really don't have nothing to worry about. You should pay attention to anything you put on it or around it to make sure they don't over heat.
Have fun with all that bandwidth you now have.

Yes you have 6 lights on the modem.
Power, Sync and Ready should remain constant.
Ethernet, Send and Receive will flash all the time. Even if your not on the internet or as you say with the computer turned off.
It's perfectly normal as it's continually updating. The modem should never be switched off either. It's designed to be left on.

This is completely normal. If it's getting on your nerves, try putting a wee bit of cardboard across the front of the modem. We have done this and it does not affect any performance or wireless access.
