And why?

Marian Hossa, becuz he turned down a deal from the Pens to become a Wing, only to lose to the team he didn't want to play for in the Stanley Cup, poor guy

The only players worth any sympathy at all are the ones who never won last year (mainly Hossa). Anyone fealing bad for the guys who got to experience the thrills of the cup last year are pretty greedy. You cant win every year. Let one of the other 29 teams win, and stop hogging the cup and crying because you missed winning the 5th cup over the last 12 years.

Hossa. At least he's a man and doesn't regret coming to the WIngs, huge pay cut, and all. Conks for that matter, too. They both deserved to have their names on the cup. Ty played a great regular season, and Hossa, ugh, he's fantastic. I'm going to be sad if he has to leave due to sal. cap, which is the most likely outcome.

Source(s): PS Helm is wonderful and definatly one of my favorites. He played hard and made a significant impact, but, his name is already on the cup, and he's only 22. So, he's got time.
  • Justin Abdelkader - last year he wasn't elgible to play in the playoffs as he had signed the amateur tryout contract. This year he's eligible, and they come up short.

Unfortunately (and an unnamed teammate brought this up Friday night), Abdelkader skated around with the cup last year. No ring, no playoff share, and no engraving. Yet he touched the cup. A new curse mae may have begun.

Not a player, but Mike Babcock. He obviously changed strategies for game seven, the Wings played a very loose blue line, Pittsburgh read the change, and took advantage.

Kris Draper. He wanted to be there for his mates, but he just didn't have it. He was completely ineffective, even on faceoffs which are his supposed specialty. Injury, age or both? I just hope his place in the lineup was really the result of Abdelkader being ill and not Babcock playing him over the youngster.

If we've seen the last of Draper, perhaps it came three games too late.

Helm. or Zetterberg, both were the best forwards for the wings in the whole playoffs (with the exception of Cleary). But both worked the hardest

I do feel bad for Hossa, because he had faith in our team only to see his former smack him in the face with the Cup he could've won.

But I also feel bad for the fans of Detroit. The fans are a player because they have such a big impact on the team. It was heartbreaking especially in these tough economic times.

I'm not a sour Pens fan - & i appreciate Detroit as a team - but I feel bad for none of them. A majority of them already have their names on the cup, and a few have their name on it numerous times.

    Ty Conklin

Still has nightmares about Game 1 in the 2006 Finals
