If you don't like Obama does that make you racist?

My friends and I were having a discussion about why we don't like Obama. These African American girls who were behind us turned around and said "You don't like Obama? You racist!" We then got into a heated argument. It seemed that the only reason they liked him was for his color. We, being my friends and I, started talking about his ill planned out political policies and such, with myself spearheading the argument. Then, one of the girls said "You don't like Obama? I'm gonna shoot your family!", to which I replied "But wait, you can't, because Obama's going to ban guns!" My friends got a laugh out of that and the girls eventually left. So I pose this question: if you don't like Obama, does that mean you are racist?

No, it is very possible to not like the ideas, policies, or opinions of a person without being a racist.

No, if you are conservative, or a Republican or even a Democrat you could dislike him for policies. If for example, you did not like Bill Clinton and don't like Obama I doubt if it is racist.

But some people, of all races and ethnic groups tend to put race or ethnicity into things if they don't like somebody. I'm not saying you did but the African American girls may have heard Obama put down and somebody did put race into it and so they assumed if a White person did not like him it was because of race.

They were out of line if they threatened you but I'm sure they were not serious.

I live in an area where the largest city has a White mayor and over half the city population is African American and we have had 2 African American mayors in the last 20 years. But some African Americans say that the white mayor should not be in office since the majority of people in the city are African American. So bigotry can go both directions.

No it does not mean that - in a rational person's eyes. A lot of these people are not rational. They have no idea about politics and only want to cause trouble. To me, those girls are the racists. They admit that the only reason they like him is because he's black. I bet that a lot of blacks out there than never voted before did this time for that reason only. How right is that? Not. But they won't see it that way.

It only makes you racist if you don't like him specifically because he's black and if you say that you don't like him because he's black. If you don't like Obama because of some other non-race related reason, then that is not racism. Grow up and stop all the finger-pointing.

Lots of self-righteous nitwits like to point the racism finger just to make themselves feel superior-ish. Most of these morons have no idea what the hell "racism" even means.

BTW, Obama never took any stand one way or the other on gun control. That was just propaganda from the radical right-wingers looking to stir sh*t up. Obama does not want to take your guns away.

Some people are racist as evidenced by the black girls response. Blacks in the vast majority of cases are very prejudiced. But, not in all cases. My best friend was a black man and until his death we were as close as brothers. To dislike a sitting President does not automatically infer prejudice.

I find it highly entertaining engaging these Obama supporters into a debate on the issues. When actual policies are discussed they do not even know what the issue at hand is, and instead of educated debate, they resort to name calling, and anger.

I dont think its racist, it would only be racist if you said " i dont like Obama because he is black" or something along the lines of that. But you didnt you were just simply saying that you dont like the way he works and you dont think hes good at his job. It has nothing to do with race.

No, that doesn't make you racist. I really don't like Obama for many reasons, and his race is not one of them. And yeah, all the African- Americans at my school are for Obama just because of his color.

No, actually it doesn't. Many of us conservatives don't care about his color, who gives that he is not white! Next, it really is just a liberal excuse, because I have heard of instances where liberals have called Alan Keyes a N****. They are saying it to silence the opposition, how can anyone disagree if they are afraid to be called racist, because they THINK for themselves?

  • The "Racist Card" is the main weapon used by liberals, democrats and other Socialists in an attempt to 'shame' people into agreeing with their wrong headed thinking...

So hating O'Bama doesn't make you a racist, it makes you a thinking man.

I too dislike The Anointed One and I am not basing that on race SINCE he is 50% white. his African percentage is less than 50% because his sperm donor was a mix of several races, BUT his mother was WHITE....

Seems like the racist is the black girl who threatened your family with murder because they be white....

And the remark of gun violence...One misinformed subject has noted that MORE people die in America from gun violence...IS TO LAUGH...More people are killed by drunk Drivers than by guns ANNUALLY...More people die from smoking ANNUALLY than are killed by gun violence...

Fact is you are 2000 times more likely to be killed by your DOCTOR than by gun violence.....
