Did the bible ever talk about abortion?

The bible teaches that life begins at conception, which proves that abortion is murder. ---------------------------

It's been a long time since I read any religious texts, but I understand they condone abortion for a male fetus of less than 40 days and a female fetus of less than 90 days. How they would have known the gender that early in the pregnancy without the technology of today is anyone's guess.

And the commandment is "thou shalt not murder", as plenty of killing--heck, plenty of murder--goes on in the bible. Murder is an act done with malice; killing is not. There is no malice involved in terminating a pregnancy; ergo, abortion is not murder.

The bible talks about killing, in which is one of the commandments. When you have an abortion, your killing a life.

Nope. No mention of abortions whatsoever, even though they had been occuring LONG before biblical times.

Specifically as we know it today? No. But the Bible DOES have plenty of references to show it does not consider a fetus a human deserving of protection or life. I think someone else has already posted all of it, so I will leave my answer at that.

Yes. The bible gives instructions on chemical abortions in the book of Numbers.

It also does not put monetary value on any human under one month of age.

at the time it was written there was no such thing. maybe women knew of herbs to take to cause a miscarriage but that was risky at best, and men wouldn't know anything about it. so, not knowing it would ever exist, my guess would be no!

No, but it does say life starts at conception. Therefore abortion is killing unborn human children. So we dislike it.
