What's wrong with my central ac?

The furnace fan is running but no cold air is coming out. The outside unit isn't coming on. I switched the breaker on and off. Nothing.

Earlier in the day I was mowing and weedeating around it. Could I have bumped it the wrong way.

What can I do to fix it?

Turn the thermostat off. Go outside around the condensing unit and look for a small cable that is running alongside the refrigerant lines. It has at least two small wires inside the sheathing, usually a red and white wire. It's possible the weedeater cut through the wire. Strip back the wires and twist them together, like color for like color. Wire nut and/or tape the connections.

Go shut off breaker & take a look.

Was it working before you bumped it with the mower or weedeater? If so, then you could have cut a wire or something. If not than, your fan motor may be going bad, or the capacitor is no good. Check the capacitor first, and then the fan motor itself. Hope this helps, but need a little more info.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU CUT THE LITTLE WIRE CONTROLING YOUR CONTACTOR GOING TO YOUR OUTSIDE UNIT. LOOK AT IT MAKE SURE ITS NOT SHORTED OUT (BARE WIRES TOUCHING) IF THE WIRE GOING TO IT LOOKS OK YOU'D BE BETTER OFF CALLING A TECH OUT TO LOOK AT IT COZ IT CAN BE ALOT OF THINGS GOOD LUCK. IF THE WIRES WERE CUT SPLICE BACK TOGETHER AND TAPE UP REAL GOOD

Most people don't even know those wires are there. I know I was very surprised when I found out about them. I feel sure you accidentally cut them.

Check the breakers or fuses in your electric box.
