why are jews god's "chosen people"? and where does that leave you gentiles?

Only their book says this. They used this as propaganda in Joshua's time to slaughter innocent Canaanites.

God annointed the Jews (who are a religion and a culture, not a race) his chosen people in the old testament. Back then, people converted to judaism all the time. But then some of the Jews rejected God by refusing to recognize Jesus.

Christians are the "Choosing People" since they were the Jews who chose to recognize the messiah, who was God in the flesh. So they are like honorary Jews, at least as far as Christianity is concerned. The muslims are not in the mix...heathens.

God's little agnostic has it right. Chosen does not mean favored or better or special or superior. We are not the "chosen" people. We are the "people who chose." God offered his 613 commandments to all the nations on earth and the Jews chose to follow those commandments and become people of God.

This misunderstanding has resulted in much tsouris for the Jewish people throughout history.

Yup, completely ignored 4000 years of its guidance and teachings , which includes the components announcing it by no skill differences, in a 33 300 and sixty 5 days span. i think of, someplace in that lacking area of Yeshua's existence tale, he got here to the tip that he'd been type of a jerk whilst he replace into only God. and then concept, "How am i able to be a good extra desirable jerk? i know, i will do something so logically contradictory that any sensible guy or woman might brush off it, and then make believing it actual to be the only thank you to realize heaven!"

Its doesn't mean chosen as in favourite, it means they are obliged/chosen to follow the many laws of Judaism whereas gentiles are only expected to follow the basic 7 noahide laws which god expects everyone to follow. Or something like that, what I said might not be right.

I'm not jewish so it is hard for me to explain but basically Jewish people don't believe they are favoured by god or loved more. Many non-Jews misunderstand the context of the word chosen. remember chosen doesn't always mean favourite.....

please don't try to understand the Torah you'll get confused first we believe were the chosen people because god told us we are because we chose to follow him when he asked if we wanted to and all the other nations did not want to and also anyone can convert to Judaism its a religion not a race and like i said before he chose us because we accepted his "invite" when no one else did and because we believed in him so it is because of our belief its not the idea of being superior its saying god chose us to follow his Torah if you really want a good answer ask a rabbi

They are his chosen people because he chose them, period. Then he went to work on them.

The rest of us were invited by Jesus (a Jew, a man, and God) to be part of his chosen people.

So that means you’re invited too!!

God called Abraham and his descendants to be His chosen people. The Christians, who support the Jews, are His blessed children.

Genesis 12:3

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

I try not to get too hung up on it, and I certainly do not hold it against the Jews.
