I am diagnosed with kidney stones and blood in the urine usually signifies I have a stone...well, that and extreme pain. This blood comes the stone scraping the walls of the narrow ureter.

That may be what's ailing him, although blood in the urine could be many things. You'll just have to wait for the test results; I'm sure he'll be fine.

Kidney stones are not usually life-threatening, if your husband does have one. I have passed all my stones on my own (drinking plenty of water & pain medication). Your husband may need some sort of medical intervention, it depends on the size of the stone and his pain tolerance. Either through Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) or ureteral stents or very rarely open surgery.

I hope your husband the best.
