PLEASE HELP QUICKLY!!!! Dell Inspiron 1525 battery problems?
Hi....first of all please help quickly...I haven't got much time! My dell inspiron 1525 was low on batteries so I plugged it in to charge while surfing the web....but then a few minutes later I noticed that the battery icon did not say that it was charging, I checked to be sure the charger was connected, and it was....so I decided to unplug it and then replug it....but when I unplugged it, the whole computer shut down! After a few minutes and trying a few outlets, I got the computer back on and the light on the charger is on, indicating that it is working. But the battery icon on the tool bar says, "plugged in, not charging" and the little blue light on the front of the computer that indicates the laptop is charging is flashing red and blue. The control panel says that the battery is idle...but functioning normally. Still every time I unplug the charging cable the computer instantly shuts down. I can't find the book to this computer and I'm like freaking out because I'm scared something is wrong and I just got this computer a year ago and I can't afford to get another one and all my papers and stuff from college that I NEED are on here!!! What can I do to fix this someone, please???? I promise that I will choose best answer as soon as I can and please hurry because I have only 20% battery left.
thank you to anyone that can help me!!!!
Thanks everyone! I look the battery out and left the laptop shut down to rest of awhile, and now it is charging just fine! The real test will come when it finished charging and hopefully I can full the cord out without the computer shutting down totally! Thanks everyone for all your suggestions!
And I'm sorry if I sounded rude....that was not at all my intent. I was just very frazzled....this week has just been one terrible thing after another and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. So I'm sorry if I sounded rude.
Thanks again everyone! I will choose best answer as soon as I am able to, so that I can show my appreciation :]

try to pull out the battery and charge the notebook using just the adapter. It should work without the battery. Then go ahead and save first your files into a portable storage...Then try to test other batteries I have a feeling that it's because you have a battery problem.

I'd say shut the computer off and send it to the company. Try taking out your battery and putting it back in. Seems like somehow the electricity is getting to your computer but the battery is not connected to your computer. Strange! Yeah, I'd say shut it off b4 the battery completely dies b/c I don't think that's good for it.

I would suggest going to Best Buy to get a new charger or call them and ask them to recommend a place or just google your computer brand and model and look for the company website that made your computer and they might have a "Help Line" or a "Customer Service" Number.

There are laptop things that are like lap desks for laptops, to keep you from burning your legs. You can buy special ones at Target that have fans on them to help the CPU stay cool :D
