I haven't taken a math class since 2004..?
I need to take Calculus to transfer to the university I want to go to, but I was wondering that since I haven't done math in awhile should I take something like College Algebra first? Or are they relatively the same, in terms of difficulty to where I could just jump into Calculus?

It's probably a good idea to take the college algebra course. The material in college algebra wont be pertinent, per se, towards calculus but you gain a *lot* in terms of developing mathematical maturity. This is important because quant courses are fundamentally so different from other types of courses you've taken. The method of study, test taking, etc, are radically different. So if you go into calculus cold turkey, you have a high probability of flunking out when you've not been in that type of environment for a while.. calculus will be extremely painful when you're trying to adapt to the different style. In college algebra the topics will be easier to understand so the adaptation period is easier. I hope this clears things up.
