Can you prove that we have freedom of speech?
Well Matt that may be proof that you can say it,But that happens to be one thing someone could say to me that would make me insult you to the point of trying to hit me since I don't swing first which you might say an idiot is someone who calls me one although since you have no clue who I am and it's just an answer to the question,I understand your ignorance and it's ok.

According to the 2nd amendment of the US constitution you have freedom of speech. The best test I can suggest is go burn an American flag on the steps of your local court house.
BUT there are limits. You can not endanger others by say Yelling fire in crowded building. You can not slander someone's reputation without the threat of civil suit. You can not threaten the life of the US president.
The long short of it is, we do NOT have ABSOLUTE freedom of speech, but we do have a level of free speech unmatched by most of history.

How bout you go to another country and try to talk bad about the government and see what happens.
People in America get to protest without any harm to them, where else in other countries people cannot protest without being killed.
Furthermore, we do have freedom of speech, but it is limited, a person just can't tell lies about others that is known as slander. Slander is not part of Freedom of Speech because slander can be used to harm others and ruin their reputations.

I suggest you to have a six month trip in North Korea, live there among the natives, convince yourself what exactly does mean the lack of freedom of speech, and only then put this question on Yahoo! Answers.
Have a nice day

I think I can proove it simply by telling you what I believe - religion wise, politically, etc. In return, the governement does not do anything about it, to hurt me. like in china things are controlled there. you can be imprisoned if you protest.
protest! thats a form of freedom of speech. You dont suffer consequences for sayin what ya believe! you do if you hurt others violently in the process. and personally I think you should be imprisoned if you hurt others in the process.

Yes, ofcourse we have freedom of speech. We are always free to speak kind and sweet words to people around us. We are always free to console those in grief with words of encouragement and positivity. We are always free to boost the morale of diffident personalities around us. We are always free to say "Thank You" as a gratitude to those help us. We are always free to say "Sorry" and apologise to people whom we have wronged. We are always free to give good advices to people who ask us for it. We are always free to speak the truth as much as possible. We are always free to forgive people saying "It's ok. No problem."

No....the fact that war coverage is tightly controlled and manipulated by the government and their partners in crime; big business...as well as all forms of communication(now that the television airwaves have been abolished) is just proof of the non-existence of free speech.
How's that?

Read "Brave new world"
Source(s): speech is also the press, the right to congregation and protest. compared to quite a few countries, with out a doubt there is a freedom.
