Anyone else tired of this Michael Jackson hubub?
We are currently going through a time as bad if not worse than the great depression, the environment is coming closer and closer to collapsing everyday and we are still at war!!! How is it that no one can talk about anything except the white/black child molester who is finally no longer burdening this world?
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I did not mean to insult anyone who is actually mourning this guy's death, I was simply attempting to point out the obvious ridiculousness of every major news source out there dedicating vast amounts of air time to one guys death. By the way Deen, chill out, and just because he was wasn't convicted doesn't mean he was innocent, just like OJ, Nixon, and Ted Stevens. Also, Hellcat2 I agree with you mostly, I see the ultimate hypocrisy of bringing something up to complain about people talking about it, but from my point of view I didn't bring it up, I saw 3 of out 4 links for the yahoo news things dedicated to Jackson and I saw a segment about him on CNN, MSNBC, and almost every other news station I turn to. Plus, this whole thing(Yahoo Answers) is dedicated to the perspectives of everyone on it. And I was belittling the news stations not Jacksons fans, and no the news stations can't be fans, they are supposed to be objective.

I agree. But this is why the stations are doing it:
Within the first hour of his death, text messages were being sent at a rate of 65,000 per minute.
CNN was up 355% in viewings.
And all the others were up 200% as well.
The stations and radio stations are trying to milk whatever they can with this story. They know people will watch, people will listen, so they show that all the time to the point where it's getting boring.
I also don't think he was THAT great. Sure, he made great records in the 70's, 80's and early 90's, but where has he been for the past 15 years?
A TRUE legend is someone who is known all over, all the time. He was past his prime, and nobody gave a rat's *** about him until he died.
Also I think it's really unfair that Farrah Fawcett, who also died, is now treated like she didn't even existed because she died on the same day as "the King of Pop."
Hopefully it will be over soon.

No, I'm not sick of it. Michael Jackson was not just a singer. He was an artist who had an impact on the entire world. No matter what you think about his personal life (I for one think he's innocent), you can't deny that in the world of entertainment he was incredible, and will be missed by a lot of people.
And to one of the other idiot responders, you must have lived in a box your whole life if you think MJ is some one hit wonder. He had MANY chart topping hits, from the old days with the Jackson 5 all the way up to the 90s. And he was preparing to go on a SOLD OUT tour before he died. Get a clue.
I know you didn't mean to insult the fans, but what is more insulting is your ignorance, and the fact that you're saying that just because Michael Jackson was famous, he doesn't deserve the same airtime as politics or our economy. He was a humanitarian who made a difference in the world, and no one expected him to die. People are still in shock, including the media, and they have every right to cover it. Show some respect and get over yourself.

he deserved some major coverage but this is overdoing it. Personally I think it had to do with the media wanting to take attention off the climate bill being voted on the same day Michael died. That bill was hardly even mentioned and yet it will double our electric bill and raise all energy costs and impose strict building codes from California on all the rest of the country. It barley passed in the House but now it will be up for voting in the Senate.
Someone pointed out that Marvin Gaye and Ray Charles sold more records than Michael's besides others so this is really alot of politics to say he is a King of POP these days. No doubt he was a great entertainer but definitely the way he died and lived the last 15 years; drug addict, self mutilated, paying of parents in child molestation cases (even if he was not convicted) means he should not have been over celebrated. Elvis had a medication addiction problem but was otherwise normal so I don't hesitate to celebrate him. Maybe if people will see how Elvis and Michael died addicted to medication there will be a chance to save lives.

Of direction the media has long past loopy! He used to be the King of Pop, and no longer simply right here within the U.S. People far and wide the arena are lacking Michael Jackson. I do not know wherein you're, however I believe matters have quieted down plenty in comparison to final week. There is not something rather new to file, I wager. What I'm worn out of is listening to the equal experiences over and over and over...And repeat questions like yours asking 'who is worn out'. If it is historic information, I simply bypass it.

To each thier own, he obviously has millions of fans so let them grieve and if you don't want to know do not read about it, if it's on TV change the channel if it's on radio do the same thing.
But don't A) belittle those who are heartbroken and B) State that you are sick of something or someone by bringing what you are sick of up (i hope you know what i'm saying) If you're over him don't bring him up.
I am sick of hearing about him also!!!!

Well, he deserves it. You cannot deny that everything with his name becomes the worlwide event. Of course the ratings of TV news progarm is one of the factors. You cannot stop people adoring Michael. that's the fact. That's how people love Michael Jackson.

yeah im sick of it. I dont wish anything bad on anyone and hate to see someone die. He was a freak and a weirdo. i have nothing for him. what did he do so great? come out with a record 20 years ago, and keep remaking the songs.

he was a greatly talented musician and his gift will be greatly missed.
but.....
we must not let this gloss over the fact that he was a paedophile and whether you are the worlds greatest performer or the lowest tramp in the street kiddie-fiddlers have no place on god's earth-they prey on the weak and the defenceless.
this is why no-one in this household will miss him!.

He deserves all the tributes. I enjoyed his music and his dancing and I'm not the judge of what he was accused of, and neither are you or anyone else.

People like YOU are burdening the world by being a selfish idiot. and for your information, he was acquitted of the molestation cases that have been filed to him in 2005 you hubub. check your sources before you speak you moron. i hate dumb and selfish people, apparently intelligence has been wasted on you.
