He didn't got traded, he refused to pass to Edmonton. It's official, he won't get there as the news is confirmed and the unofficial deal was based on one condition: Dany Heatley add to rip his non-moving clause.

    RDS states:

    French

"L’attaquant Dany Heatley complique de plus en plus la vie du directeur général des Sénateurs d’Ottawa Bryan Murray.

Après que notre station sœur TSN eut rapporté que les Sénateurs d’Ottawa avaient conclu une entente de principe avec les Oilers d’Edmonton, RDS a appris que l’attaquant avait refusé de lever sa clause de non-échange, ce qui empêche son transfert dans la capitale albertaine."

    I translate quickly:

Danny Heatley complicates more and more Brian Murray's life, the Ottawa Senetors' GM.

After our "sister" channel TSN has repported Ottawa has conclued an unofficial deal with the Edmonton Oilers, RDS has learned the forward decided not to let his non-moving clause which prohibit the Senetors to transfer his rights to the Alberta's capital.

Officially went out at 11:00pm on Juin 30th

Still not official yet (as far as I know), but if it happens, I think its a good deal for both sides. Penner did not perform in Edmonton, and Cogliano and Smid will be good additions in Ottawa. Obviously, Heatley's 50 goals will help Edmonton's offense.

EDIT: I think Heatley now looks like a jerk. Demanding a trade, yet refusing to be traded to Edmonton, his home province, on a good team with a great coaching duo. He has just tightened the handcuffs he put on Bryan Murray

Heatley refused to waive his no trade, apparently pronger told him his wife would not like it.

James, you traded Garon away last winter. He won a cup in Pittsburgh since then.

Looks like Heatley's gonna hear it from the boo-birds in Edmonton next season!!

  • Didn't happen.

So Heatley will stay in the nation's capital for now. That won't get awkward...nope, no chance of that happening.

He doesn't want to play for the Oilers... I feel bad for the Senators.

I'm wondering if a team could get him for a third-liner because of the fact that no one really wants him lol.

it would make the oilers better next year but not in the future cogliano is gonna be a stud him and sam gagne will dominate they should trade robert neilson instead of cogliano that is much better for the oilers plus also shawn horoff and an overpriced scrub should be traded for daniel briere. our lineup would be filled with high quality players and our d is good with lubimir visnovksy and souray and garon is the best shootout goalie in the world so we should compete next year.
