Isn't Fox News Channel considered the mainstream media?

I occasionally watch Fox News Channel, and have noticed that they seem to get very angry about the "mainstream media"??? ISN'T FOX NEWS CHANNEL MAINSTREAM MEDIA?

it has become an accepted fact that MSNBC is the most biased network on television. they enjoyed a brief surge in ratings during the election mainly out of curiosity to see how Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann would express their love for Obama next.

but now that the election is over and the country finds itself facing serious economic problems, the time for laughs is behind us. people don’t want to hear Chris Matthews relentlessly give cover to Obama or listen to Keith tirelessly attacking an administration that’s no longer in power. nobody wants to see Brian Williams anchor a so-called hard news broadcast where he spins every story to put the most favorable light on Barack Obama and his administration.

that’s why people will continue to watch Fox News. it’s absolutely the best news channel on television. Bill O’Reilly will continue to have the #1 cable news broadcast in the country no matter how many times Olbermann calls him “Bill-O the clown” or refers to Fox News as “faux news, fixed news, fixed noise, fox noise, or fake news".

unlike Olbermann, O’Reilly doesn’t avoid booking guests who disagree with him and in fact relishes it. you will NEVER see anyone other than the same tired, liberal panel on Olbermann night after night. they smile and nod and tell Keith how smart he is and then it’s off to the next segment. then during the commercial he checks his blog on Daily Kos and gets instructions on what the next story should be. after the commercials, he rotates in the next liberal and the cycle begins all over again.

it’s incredibly tedious and predictable, not to mention boring. people who want unbiased hard news coverage and balanced opinion/commentary also watch Fox News. even Sean Hannity (who’s the most partisan person on the network) always has at least one liberal guest every single night.

for those of you who’ve been told by a liberal that Fox News is all propaganda, don’t believe the hype. be your own person and think for yourself. watch it for a few days and make up your own mind. i think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Fox News has some news programs, but they also have lots of editorial programs. In these programs, just like on other networks, the hosts can express their opinions (with accompanying emotion) about the news and other matters. When they talk about the mainstream press, they are talking about all the other major networks who mostly promote liberal ideology in their broadcasts. And there are far more of them than conservative broadcasts. Fox offers an alternative to that.

Actualy they are trying to compete with CNN and BBC.

CNN is the most provacative news and the most trusted name in news. Plus CNN lets it's viewers put news on ireport and they show people on the sho. Such as photos sent in by Iranians of protests, or video footage of people speaking their opionion about Micheal Jackson, stuff like that.

So, I suggest that you switch to CNN, and either block or stop watching Fox News, because they suck and they are always ranked 3rd and 2nd in best news, CNN is ranked number 1!

FOX "News" is and has been a joke in the news business. It's been owned lock, stock and printing press by the Republican Party since it was formed.

eh its different. mainstream media (aka CNN etc) is very liberal and pretty much the entire media is liberal except for FOX which is pretty conservative. so their views are different.

    No.

They are postmodernist fanatics I claim of a neo-statist persuasion.

Their executives only pretend to purvey "news"--non-fictional information.

They're nearly as "fair and balanced" as Pravda was circa 1962 in Russia, by my estimation.

    Thanks for asking.

They admit what they are; but
