  • Question about Oxygen sensors?

I already posted a rather wordy question under Mitsubishi but I wanted to post one in a more general section. Can someone tell me how many oxygen sensors are in a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero? My daughter is getting an expensive jacking around by a dealership with a "check engine light" problem. Thank You in advance!

  • Expertise on a 2001 Mitsu Montero?

My daughter appears to be getting the shaft from a Mitsubishi Dealership, and NOT the drive shaft. She has paid already, $2,000 to fix whatever was causing her "Check engine light" to illuminate. After picking up her SUV, the next day the light comes back on. Not going to go into the details of the "he said, she said", but on picking up her car the second time they give her a bill for another $390 saying "your front oxygen sensor was really bad and your rear one was not quite as bad so we replaced the front one". Question: 2 oxygen sensors? And even if there are 2 (which I was not aware any car had), how is one "really bad" or "not quite so bad"? Isn't a statement like that akin to "you're a little bit pregnant" or "you have a little cancer" (not making fun here, I have cancer and my doctor DID say "we found a little cancer"). Sum up: Main question - 2 oxygen sensors or not? Wouldn't the oxygen sensor be among the first things checked for a check engine light problem? and over $2,000 for a check engine light problem? Rip off or not? Thanks in advance!

  • Schools Out For The Year?

To all my friends here in the cancer section at Y/A. Have any of you noticed, as I have, that school appears to be out? I am really having a hard time keeping my answers in my head and restraining my typing fingers -all two of 'em.

  • Handling characteristics with weight of car altered in the rear?

I recently had mounted a hitch and carrier for a motorized wheel chair on my Kia Optima 4 door sedan. Car weight is approx 3500lbs and the weight of the carrier and chair is approx 500-700lbs. I'd like to know if this added weight at the rear of the car will excessively alter the handling characteristics such as braking and steering. An answer from someone with actual experience driving a car with this configuration would be really helpful but I'll sincerely appreciate any knowledgeable answer. Thanks in advance.

  • Altered car handling characteristics with extra weight in rear?

I've just had mounted a carrier for a motorized wheel chair on a Kia Optima 4 door sedan. Car weight approx 3500lbs. The weight of the carrier, hitch and chair approx 500 to 700 pounds. Is this going to alter the steering, braking or any other handling characteristics of the car? Be really nice if I could get an answer from someone who has actually driven a vehicle configured like this. Thanks in advance.

  • My Turn I guess. Anyone who has experienced pain in the testicles? I have prostate cancer so I know the?

"I thinks", what I really would like now is if anyone has had really intense pain in one of the testicles - only when it is touched. (Yeah, I know -well don't touch!!) My urologist is non-commital but has me on antibiotics for 15-30 days, 500mg Cipro twice a day. Anybody want to tell me what you know I want to hear?, "Not cancer, an infection?"

  • NOW, how many are going to quit the butts?

With the new federal tax hike on tobacco, the price of a carton of Marlboros here in Texas just went to well over $50 a carton! I've smoked for over 50 years and have been struggling to quit. I now have to thank the folks in D.C. for the new tax. It's the straw on this camels back that's going to enable me to quit. How many are going to join me?

Two things do make me sad though: #1 Like all things D.C, the money won't be put to the stated purpose for the new tax, and #2 - The big tobacco companies are renewing their efforts to spread their cancerous plague in the third world countries amd China. They won't miss a beat or lose a dime.

  • Has anyone been having or had problems with "Crestor"?

My diabetes doctor recently prescribed it for me and I have had problems with statins in the past. The comments I have read about it by using Google haven't been complimentary. Is it simply the latest statin protected by a patent and a new name to make it pricey?

  • Recently prescribed "Crestor" by my diabetes doc. Can anyone tell me of bad experiences with it?

I've had problems with the statins before and I want to know if Crestor is any different. Some of the stuff I've read about it isn't flattering. Just another "statin" with a new "patented" price tag? Thanks in advance.

  • Could someone who has a good idea give me a ball park figure of the mortgage payment on $160,000?

The $160,000 would be the total balance after closing. And is there some kind of deal for first time buyers on a loan of that size? (Been at least 30 years since I bought a home and I have no idea about current rules)
