Another broken Obama promise?

Obama Administration to Involve NSA in Screening Civilian Agency Networks 02 Jul 2009 The Obama regime will proceed with a Bush-era plan to use National Security Agency assistance in screening government computer traffic on private-sector networks, with AT&T as the likely test site, according to three current and former government officials. President Obama said in May that government efforts to protect computer systems from attack would not involve "monitoring private sector networks or Internet traffic." Under a classified pilot program approved during the Bush regime, NSA data and hardware would be used to 'protect' the networks of some civilian government agencies. Part of an initiative known as Einstein 3, the pilot called for telecommunications companies to route the Internet traffic of civilian government agencies through a monitoring box that would search for and block malicious computer codes... The pilot was to have been launched in February. "To be clear, Einstein 3 development is proceeding," DHS spokeswoman Amy Kudwa said.

Update:

The issue is not "how much time" he's had to do things. At this rate, the more time the worse! Given more time, he may empty the next 50 years of federal money into private coffers. Given more time, he will surely oversee the killing of more Pakistani civilians with unmanned drones--how noble.

You cannot UNDO the bailouts. You cannot UNDO the deaths. You cannot undo the loss of rights, the indefinite detentions, the other policies that continue the Bush regime. WAKE UP and stop the APOLOGIZING for his every move, 99% of which resemble Bush's precisely!

Update 2:

Read the excerpt--you don't even need to read the entire article--for the PROMISE made in MAY.

Update 3:

Incidentally, I am not a conservative. I'm a socialist. Obama, however, is a complete FRAUD. He's a fraud because he completely misrepresented himself. NOT THAT I BELIEVED IT FOR A SECOND. But still, others, like you, apparently did. Now you can deny and deny the facts, as they continue to pile up.

Update 4:

That's for you, bob.

an 0bama promise IS, by definition, a broken promise...it's what he does, and no amount of incoherent babbling and wailing by the 0bamarrhoid Zombie Chorus (he's stuck trying to fix 8 yrs of bush/cheney) can drown out the 'inconvenient truths' of his incompetence and dishonesty

i'm a conservative, but i have respect for a socialist who is forthright about his views and thinks for himself-what i CAN'T respect is an egotistical 'benevolent dictator' masquerading as an 'enlightened and tolerant progressive'...

you, sir, are 'aces' in my book-the bumbling man-child at 1600 pennsylvania avenue, not so much

We said during the campaign that Obama would say anything, do anything to get elected and it is proving true.

He has broken every campaign promise that he has had an opportunity to break.

    Name it, he's broken it.

The biggest travesty is that he and the entire Democratic party campaigned against what they called Bush's "terrible deficit" which was $468 billion.

In the first 100 DAYS of the Obama Administration, they increased that same deficit by more than FOUR TIMES and it is now at $1.3 TRILLION for just this year.

They complained about Bush's debt of $3 trillion.

Yet within LESS than 2 months, Obama had MORE than TRIPLED that debt, which is now projected at $11 trillion and growing.

We still have not seen the effects of cap-and-tax which will cost the federal government huge amounts of money in increased utility bills and decreased revenue.

Nor have we seen what will happen to entitlements or (God help us) if they pass a comprehensive health care plan.

The Obama Administration is not only continuing the NSA surveillance, but they are expanding many other intrusions into the private lives of Americans.

    Why are you surprised?

They want to control everything in our lives. And then tax it.

    It's called trickle up poverty.

The 3000 tx credit grow to be a stupid thought from the initiating. It costs hundreds of dollars to hire somebody, you have their earnings, coaching, coverage costs, ssi taxes, blah blah blah. $3000 tax credit grow to be insane. that's no longer sufficient incentive for me to hire somebody. the reason the oil companies made plenty money is via the inventory industry, no looks to appreciate how any of this works. in case you very own a company, and it i publicly traded on the inventory industry, and the inventory industry is going up so your product is now nicely worth a good purchase extra imaginary funds, than you're making a ton of funds. that's what happened with the oil companies. WE desperate A BARREL OF OIL would desire to fee OVER one hundred dollars. THEN the fee of THE gasoline on the PUMP WENT UP. there have been no incredibly motives for the upward thrust. it grow to be a futures industry. wow i won't clarify any of this. Obama is slowly understanding that HOLY CRAP, capitalism works. edit JULES: WTF ARE YOU conversing approximately! THE DEMOCRATS administration THE WHITE residing house, THEY administration THE SENATE,THEY administration the residing house OF REPRESENTATIVES! THE REPUBLICANS have not got any potential!

I know that most conservatives are all that bright, but there is a difference between monitoring government computer traffic and monitoring private conversations as the Bush administration did. Broken promise? No, I don't recall Obama ever mentioning the monitoring of government computer traffic. If you did perhaps you could provide a link. If not, I can probably conclude that you have jumped to an erroneous conclusion because of you ignorance.

look on the bright side: no matter what obama does, it will be wrong. See, if he drops all NSA activity, and something happens, he will get blamed for not eavesdropping. But if nothing happens, he will get blamed for spying on americans needlessly. In short, he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Fortunately, most americans have placed their trust in his judgment and ability and will continue to support his efforts. Not everyone, mind you, but most.

What promises has Obama kept to us?

He's been in office a little over 6 months. He's done more in that time than Bush did in his two terms.

You guys are a piece of work.
