Why do some say global warming is a hoax when I can see the evidence out my window?

This video exposes the socialist Gaia conspiracy to rob hard working Americans of God-given V-8 power and tax them into the poorhouse. Combined with the Peak Oil myth, this will cause the collapse of the U.S. economy by 2016.

The real cause of global warming is of course solar energy. Top scientists know this but the Green Hollywood lobby is buying them off at fundraising events, so they go on CNN and blame poor truck drivers for every evil.

The argument for proof outside your window, though in this case probably correct, is shaky because it leaves the door open for someone else to say it's cold here, where's the global warming?

Global warming is a complete scam. Algore is a moron that uses over $10K per month in power running all the air conditioners at his 15 room mansion Al gore has a fleet of Lincoln Towncars that get less than 12 MPG Al gore has a private jet because he, like our speaker of the House, and like Dian Feinstien, are too good to fly commercial with the "little people" The hottest year on record remains 1934, this is why the hysterical socialists (that want to put all US business out of business with punitive laws) now call it "Climate Change" This way they can still cry hysterically even though the planet has been cooling since 1934. It's a touchy subject because most people see it in either black or white and don't realize there is a lot of color mixed in there.

Yes our planet is changing. It is getting warmer and the ice caps are melting. A lot of this change is caused by a natural earth change but it doesn't mean that all the crap humans have put into our environment hasn't had any impact at all. A lady I work with claims that humans haven't damaged the earth at all but I don't understand how she can possibly justify that claim when there are rivers that cannot be used because of the trash people dump in it.

The term "Global warming" does NOT indicate simply a warming of the globe. It also includes the cooling down of the summers and the overall change in season patterns. This is what confuses people. They seem to think that if the word "warming" is in the title than it simply means temperature rise. As a child we got over 5 feet of snow through the winter and snow always showed up before Thanksgiving. Now snow doesn't show up until mid January and we get 1 foot if we're lucky....people who deny the change are fooling themselves. Global warming is simply a term used to describe season change and earth temperature change....it's not used to describe the damage humans have done to the planet...that's called "pollution".

A lot of people who answered deny global warming simply because the temps in their areas were cooler than in the past. Are they really so simple they cannot realize that those changes are part of global warming? The term "global warming" should be changed so that imbeciles quit taking the word "warming" literally.

As the native Americans knew. The earth goes through cycles. Usually cycles of 7 years. Canadian geese have lost much of the migrating instincts because of more inbreeding with domestic geese in the north. Plus their food sources are much more available in the north thru new farming techniques and creation of more wet lands. So there is no need to migrate even if they still have the instinct. Squirrels don't hibernate. Ever heard of Jan. thaw? As far as plant blooming 1 month earlier. I believe that is a variable and possibly is related to the cycles. By the way. I am a liberal.

By debating the global warming hypothesis, people go on ignoring the impact of our ever-growing population as well as the number of enormous countries that are rapidly rising out of third-world status and starting to live the way Americans do. China, India, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, UAE, Qatar... all of these countries have been experiencing ridiculous economic growth, requiring massive amounts of oil, electricity, water and food, and the long-term implications of that are cause for extreme concern. Population and economic trends put enormous strain on our natural resources, and it is in no way sustainable.

Sometimes I think global warming is a tool used to get people to acknowledge the reality of our limited resources, and it seems to be backfiring. People write off global warming as a hoax, and then ignore the real problems.

Since Al Gore released his Inconvenient Truth movie, in 2006, global carbon emissions have increased, yet global temperatures have decreased by .74 degrees F.

It may be slightly warmer than 100 years ago, but the evidence is lacking that the reason for that is man made CO2 emissions. In light of that, many are simply asking if it is wise to spend trillions of dollars to combat this threat.

Many actual do believe the science behind man made global warming, and for many others it is more about a political agenda than science.

Most change in global temperature and the arctic, can be explained by solar activity and a change in the gulf stream.

Making a determination about changes in global climate and the causes of that change certainly can not be made by looking out ones window.

You can believe the hype and say that mankind is doing this, but it's very egotistical to give man credit pushing around mother nature. it's a fact temperatures on earth have risen and fallen for millions of years. There's ice where there were plush forests and vice versa. Follow the money: Al Gore is going to become a billionaire from scaring fools like you with some one sided computer models and he will make not one difference in what mother nature decides to do. Did you notice when the dinosaurs stopped trotting across the tundra which was jungle out of your window? The argument IS about who is causing what, when and why. The facts are that the sun drives CO2 production and everything else on Earth, even massive volcanos and millions of vehicles are as nothing compared to the sun's perfectly natural cycles.

The earth is indeed changing as most obviously seen in our weather patterns. And as evidenced by many of the posters here, many believe global warming literally means that everything should be getting warmer. Why that is, I have no idea. So far, I think Wicked Wanda is closest to the mark. But as with so much, everything needs to be black and white. Too much gray area just confuses people and would take too much time to understand.

Here's the problem, we do not have long records of our temperature changes past 350+ years i believe....So how can we truly know what are natural changes or patterns, and what is something caused by our actions...

So let's look at where your from, what historical trends weather wise, if anything has occured near your area to do any major changes..

Land's and nature's do change...I just don't believe we're teh cause of it, and that we did anything wrong...

And that while having other ways to drive our civilization is wise....in terms of energy sources...we have been rather un-pragmatic in our approaches...

Global Warming is a fad, nothing more than that.....just a way for democrats to give speeches and raise money and do law's that feel good but do nothing really...other than destroy our economy that is...

let's do some actual proof of changes in your area...what part of world, and what kind of weather changes have their been over time...

I live in Minnesota...and it varies in being how cold and how warm...it's not any warmer than it used to be or any colder really...

If anything we could be headed to an ice age in the near/far future but who know's...
