What do you do when the microwave plate breaks?
We were trying to deep clean our kitchen for our parents and surprise them when they get home. The rotating glass microwave plate somehow got broken while we were cleaning it. can we get another one somewhere? If so where?

i have had my plate for years and it has never been broken. those things are made of very heavy duty glass. try the company that made your microwave. must have been using it for target practise.

Go to the internet with the make and model number. Search various sites. The manufacturer often has replacements at outrageous prices, so check other outlets, too. We just replaced the roller guide on the bottom of our microwave - $16 bucks for a cheap piece of plastic, but GE wanted $60 for it.

First check with a local appliance store and see if they have any in stock. Most carry a few sizes on a regular basis. Measure the old one so you know just what size you need.
If that doesn't work, go to the manufacturer's web site and see if you can order one there.
