Who else thinks the Brewers should fire Ken Macha?

Watching the Brewers /Dodgers game and watch the Dodgers come back and score a run in the 9th inning off a single, a sacrifice bunt, a bunt for a base hit,and a single to tie the game. That's how a real manager manufactures runs. Haven't seen the Brewers do that in any game this year. Then he brings in Carlos (can't pitch) Villanueva to give up 6 runs in the 10th, including a grand slam. They rely on walks and home runs to score. The only time they bunt is when the pitcher is at bat early in the game, they have 25 stolen bases this year, the NL leader in stolen bases is Bourn from houston with 28. He doesn't handle the pitching staff well and when you see him in the dugout he doesn't seem to even be interested in the game. Sorry for the rant but I'm just sick of this.

The only thing Macha did wrong was he didnt leave Villanueva out to dry. The game was over when C.V threw his first pitch. When the GS was hit off of him and the Brewers were going into the 10th down by AT LEAST 6 runs, he should have saved the bullpen and let V just try to work his way out of it.

he's a heck of a lot better then Ned Yost! don't you remember last year when the Brewers blew a lead in the end of a game one after another? Macha is a more aggressive manager and knows how to manage the game, utilize the bullpen, and get the job done. i will agree with you, putting Villanueva in the game last night in a clutch moment was a bad call because Villanueva has been awful in the past month, but in another sense, Macha didn't have a lot in his disposal. He went through several pitchers already. Coffey needed a day off to relax and Seth McClung has also pitched a lot recently. that leads to only one man, Carlos Villanueva. Villanueva started the year great, but has struggled recently. in my opinion, Macha should send Villanueva back to AAA like he did with Parra so Villanueva can build his confidence back and reestablish his command with his pitches. it's not Macha's fault that Trevor Hoffman blew the save last night. in extra innings, anything can happen. The Brewers as a team choked last night and the Dodgers prevailed. it was a frustrating loss, but it happens. on a bright note, our big prospect Matt Gamel had another big night. just look at the positive aspect of it. besides, the Dodgers are the best team in the MLB and the Brewers nearly beat them. oh, and yes, the Brewers need someone that can steal bases. Corey Hart is our fastest player in the lineup, but he is not good at stealing as he frequently gets a bad jump. This is Macha's first season with the Brewers, let him get settled in. he has done a superb job so far in his first season.

I feel similar about the Mets with Jerry Manuel. He hasn't been here long and many of us want him out. You know what though? Any Mets fan would still tell you they don't miss Willie Randolph. As retarded as Jerry is, Willie is 2X as much. He's your bench coach. If Macha goes, they won't pay another salary. I'm not sure if they owe money to Yost or not, but they're not going to spend on another manager. You really want Willie? No, you don't. Take it from me. I lived through it. He's like twice the deadhead Joe Torre is except with with no luck. If anything, Dale Sveum should have taken over the team considering he was the only one able to get them to the postseason in the last 26 years! They didn't crunch under him. He even got them to win a game there. You'd have to think Macha hasn't been liked by management though. He led the A's to the ALCS in 2006 and they fired him the year after. I don't even think they've been .500 since. There was a big lay off between than and the last time they had been in the ALCS too. I think it was like since the days of Tony LaRussa in the late-80's or early-90's. They lost in the ALDS three years in a row under Art Howe and bought him out and let the Mets have him. They didn't even fire him. Macha's on a two year deal. If anything happens, it'll be in the off-season. Macah's not the one playing the game. If he has relievers available, he should be able to use them. It's not his fault his players are slow too. If it's anyone you should be having an issue with, it's Doug Melvin.

With all the talent on the Brew Crew you'd think they would have a decisive lead in the Central division. Carlos Villanueva has blown 5 save chances so far this year which is terrible. As for the stolen bases, Rickie Weeks has been injured and usually helps out with 20-30 sb's. Hard to lead the league in sb's when Ryan Braun is your team leader with 7 robbed bags atm.

Anyways, Ken Macha is a good coach, but sometimes things just don't work out and usually the coach gets the brunt of it. Give him atleast 1 year to show he's worthy of keeping his job or getting the axe. Here is a link showing his professional managerial statistics:
