Need food suggestions for 1 year-old with allergies?

My son is allergic to the following: dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese, etc.), soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and lentil.

He's still breast-feeding, but not for much longer (and it's mostly for comfort, not hunger). He is at the stage where he is self-feeding and prefers foods that are easy to pick up and pop into his mouth. I'm running out of ideas for things to give him for meals and snacks. He currently eats a lot of bread, cereal, crackers, apples, bananas, and cooked carrots, but doesn't seem interested in much else. I'd like to get a lot more variety in his diet and make sure we hit all the bases, nutrition-wise. Anyone have suggestions?

I make turkey nuggets for my son and he LOVES them! It's turkey mince, bread crumbs, herbs (whatever you like) and some veggie puree. I put bread crumbs in the mix and also crumb the nuggets on the outside too. I dip the nuggets in egg and then dip in the breadcrumbs. Can he have eggs? I use chick peas in them but you can use whatever you like really, pumpkin, spinach- anything to get a good dose of veggies into him!!

  • Goats milk and rice milk is what my son drinks -- he's lactose intolerant, and allergic to soy.

For breakfast he could have eggs, or some rice krispies with a little rice milk ontop, oat meal, cream of wheat, etc.

for snack sorts of things, just read labels carefully. My son loves pretzels, animal crackers, fruit snacks, raisins (or other types of dried fruit),

He can all all sorts of fruits and veggies -- just keep offering him a wide variety. It's summer time, take advantage! Try corn on the cob, watermelon, tomatoes, etc

look into other foods containing calcuim naturally like salmon, broccoli, spinach, etc. And introduce those to his diet.

Crud, my son just woke up while I was typing this. Good luck to you!!
