Not me, though I have my opinions, and may chip in later.

"The Ship of Fools" Christian website is appealing for people's suggestions for the worst bits of the bible.

along with a nomination form.
Later they will be looking for votes on the suggestions that have been made.
I picked this up being mentioned on a religious radio broadcast.

No, Ship of Fools is not a spoof site, but has Christians with a sense of humour.

What would you suggest, or how do you react to the competition itself?

Exodus Chapter 21, verse 20:

      If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

In other words, you get to own slaves, and beat the crap out of them as long as they get up within 2 days.

The worst verses are the ones in the NIV because they are deciving. It is not the same as the KJV. Deception of man by man. Such as the mark of the beast in the oldest of versions is in the right hand or forhead. However the NIV states ON... thats deciving. But yet, the government wants to help us... l m a o

There are so many to choose from. I guess if I had to I would choose

Numbers 31:7-18   as being abnormally hideous.

But choosing 1 out of so many is a bit like trying to choose which grain of sand at a beach is best.  They're all great.

The competition itself tells me that these people do not have the proper reverance required for the Word of God. Why don't you just list the thing you like least about Jesus, or something along those lines.
I think it's terrbily disrespectful of God.
