Traveling with a (will be ) 10 mnth old in August?

And I have a few questions, fyi: we will be flying US Air from Indianapolis to Charlotte

1. Which formula should I bring? Liquid premade in a jar or sealed powder? How much can I bring?

2. Any ideas on entertaining toys for the plane? And what if he refuses a bottle, anything I can do for his ears?

3. How would you pack your bags for a 5 day trip? What would you bring as your carryon?

Thank you!!

I travel with my son ALL the time. Since he was 2.5 months old- he is now 14 months. :)

    To answer your questions..

    1. I would bring powder if you use it. Just easier. And as much as you would like. I just had them pre-scopped out in a 3 container divider bought from walmart.

2.Your flight will not be that long. I would bring 1 toy. If he gets bored with that- they have magazines in front of you. That keeps my son entertained for a while lol.

    3. I would bring 7 outfits for a 5 day trip. Then whatever else you would need. Your carry on I would make it less as possible. I bought a back pack diaper bag and that helped a bunch. I dont bring my purse. I just put my important cards or money in his diaper bag. I bring a blanket for him. Snacks. And sippy cup. Keep it as simple as possible esp if you are traveling alone with your baby. It gets hard trying to lug everything around.

Tip: I also bought a light weight cheap stroller from Walmart- $15. It's very easy and conventient to put my baby in and go. Esp if you have layovers. You just drop it at the front of the airplane and pick it up at the front of the airplane. It was a life savor for me!

    Hi,

Contact US Air to find out what their current rules and allowances are about taking liquid onto the plane. They will have specific advice for baby formula, so you can plan ahead more easily. Last time I flew with a baby, the hostesses were happy to provide warm water to make up the bottle, or to heat up pre-mixed stuff.

It's probably a good idea to start squirrelling some little things away now to keep him entertained. It needn't be anything expensive, just a collection of things he's not seen before, e.g cotton reels, a hanky or scarf to play peepo, some picture books. Sorry, I don't know the US well enough to know how long your flight will be, but he'll probably be entertained most of the time just looking at people, or sleeping.

If he refuses the bottle, you could try a pacifier, a finger, a teething ring?

If there's anyone in the world able to pack just the right amount of stuff when taking a baby away, then I've yet to meet them. I always massively overpack! Don't forget, you'll be able to get nappies, milk, baby food etc where you're going, so you can save space there. He'll probably want a familiar teddy or blanket or something to get to sleep in a strange place.

For carry on you'll need a good supply of nappies and wipes, milk, snacks, toys and a couple of changes of clothes in case of accidents.

Hope you have a great holiday!
