They shouldnt be banned.. yes it is tragic but I have to ask.. Why was it in her mouth? Was she blowing it up? Or did she put it in her mouth for no reason? (something many children do).. Where were her parents? I know my mom never let alone with a balloon for the same reason.. if your blowing it up and it pops it could easily get caught in your throat.. or if you are playing with it the string can strangle you or like many children you could suck on it and it could end up choking you.. My sister got one of those smooth thin shiny rocks from school when she was like six.. and like most kids it ends up in their mouth some how (just like the edge of their shirts, their hands and their hair) and she swallowed it.. she was fine but my mom didnt even know she had the rock until she swallowed it and couldnt even take it away because she got it from school that day and never found out about it. So basically balloons shouldnt be banned but people need to watch their kids more closely.. For example on the featured answers section.. A five year old took a spray paint to a car.. well why could a five y/o get the paint? why werent you watching him? Why was he near the car alone?
