What is the difference between MEANING and PURPOSE?

You can ask - what's the purpose of a spark plug wrench? - because the "purpose" is to take spark plugs out. But you CAN'T ask - what's the purpose of life? because what event or problem could POSSIBLY REQUIRE LIFE as a solution to it? It's nonsense.

As far as meaning? That's something WE do. Our MINDS give things meaning. To a baboon, a chiquita banana is the same as a Dole banana. It's only us that sees a difference.

Meaning of life is the goal you want to reach. Purpose is the work needed to get to the goal. If the meaning of life is to keep the human species alive. The purpose of life is to have kids to keep the species going.

Religiously, the meaning of life is to get to heaven. The purpose of life is then to live a good life to achieve your heavenly goal.

the meaning of life can be defined as what you get-or hope to get-out of it, mainly as it refers to your own personal happiness.
