Some psychedelic drugs activate the same centers in the brain that are active when people are having a religious experience. It is the exact same chemical reactions. So, my answer would be yes, God speaks to them just like those religious people who claim have spoken to God. Unfortunately that doesn't mean God exists it is just a chemical reaction in the brain.

John H Allegro supports the idea that most religions were once based on psychoactive drugs, mushrooms and so on, including Christianity via the Egyptian influence. Shamans (Shamen???) certainly used drugs to hallucinate and feel close to the divine world and probably still do.

He has most certainly spoke to me through psychedelics. I don't think my understanding of God would be as deep as it is today if I had never experimented with mushrooms and other natural drugs.

Leaving aside your theistic bent for a moment, psychedelics have been around for a long time. I have ingested several of them and I don't believe that they are any kind of gateway to an independent, alternate reality a la Carlos Castaneda. But they do enable one to realize that our usual perception of reality is only one way of being in the world. There are other ways of perceiving and being that can inform and enrich our spiritual lives. My psychedelic experiences have taught me that I am responsible for my own spiritual being and have no need of any gods...

Psychedelic drugs unlock a part of your sub-conscious that you don't normally access when you're sober. People have been taking them for hundreds of years to achieve spiritual enlightenment, etc. If taken responsibly and for the right reason, you can discover a lot about yourself.

If there was a God, and he wants to speak to people, why wait until they're on psychedelic drugs to do it? Isn't he supposed to be an all-powerful being? If he had something to say, he couldn't say it when they're sober?

    It's a hallucination.

God is infinity itself. Never beginning, never ending. That is God. Whatever that is. Everything and nothing. All that is, was, and will be ever, forever and ever, from infinity on into infinity for infinity. Not a bearded man in a golden chair. No not that.

God's people don't take mind altering drugs. Drug users are being attacked by demons and are hearing evil voices. God does not speak to drug users. Drugs keep people away from God.

People have been taking psychedlics for a long time. But there is no evidence to suggest that either Noah or Moses took them.

If he actually *speaks* to them, they should seek a specialized help ASAP
