Scientists have created life in a lab. So what do you think about that creationists?

Does that not weaken your argument.
There is no evidence that any God exists and Life can be created with out any supernatural source.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf Jesus is the only way to achieve everlasting life?
Why do Christians claim non believers will be punished for eternity? Isn't that impossible? Who is granting this immortality of torment? This doesn't make sense to me, care to explain?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould Christians be allowed to work jobs where if they were raptured it would result in injury?
it would result in the injury or mass death of people? I say NO! What do you think?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy hasn't God struck me down?
In the last few months I have corresponded with several Christians from YA, They usually start off civil enough then threaten me with hell or other such nonsense. In the last month or so, 2 different individuals have told me that God was gonna smite me, to prove his power. (one even told me he was Jesus and was gonna do it himself) I asked for a time line and details but they refused. Well Life is great, everything is wonderful and nothing bad has happened. Where is my smiting? Is this not evidence enough that your God isn't real?
26 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do you feel about this statement?
Morality is doing what is right regardless of what you are told.
Religion is doing what you are told regardless of what is right.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians, How do you know if someone is mentally ill?
In communicating with a Fundamentalist Christians I have been told the following:
That there are demons making people do things.
That the person was called by God to lead people.
That the person was Given the gift of prophesy.
That God speaks to them.
That they are Jesus and they have been called to take over as the world was over and judgment day was coming.
Granted I am an Atheist, But as a Christian how do you know if people are schizophrenic? All of these claims sound like schizophrenia to me.
As a Christian, how do you differentiate between people who are delusional, and people who are religious?
1 in 10 people will have a schizophrenic outbreak sometime in their life. In the US the majority of the population is Christian. Obviously there must be schizophrenic Christians, so how can you tell?
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTheists? If you believe a God created the universe...Why would you not want to learn as much about it as you c?
Science is how we learn about the natural world. If Got created it wouldn't that creation give you the opportunity to learn more about your God, how that Gods mind works, and what purpose that God had in creation.
When you remain ignorant or are willfully ignorant about how the universe is constructed, are you not choosing to remain ignorant of the real God and instead choosing to follow the God of a primitive people who did not understand their place in the universe. Even if they had a genuine connection with the divine, they could not grasp the complexity of the universe and their understanding would have been flawed.
I am an Atheist, but I will admit if there is a God, science will be what allows us to see his face. If there is a God, Science will be able to prove it eventually. By ignoring or denying science are you not stating that you don't think science will find God? Isn't your ignorance of science just your fear that God in fact does not exist?

7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBelievers, is you God and beliefs so week that he can't be criticised ?
Why can't you question the validity of your beliefs, learn what is real evidence and scrutinies your religion? Why do you need faith, if it is real wouldn't you have evidence instead?

2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do you think you have the right not to be offended?
You have the Right to be offended, take offense, and to offend. That is the beauty of free will and freedom of speech.
Say what you think, and feel and disagree. Just because we don't agree doesn't mean we can't get along. Why do you think that my thoughts and feelings and ideas are offensive yet when I share that yours are as well to me you can't accept it.
You do not have the right to not be offended.
Please can you explain why you think you do?
(offense meant)

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhich do you value more honor or morality?
I think this is the basis for religions bashing science.
I am an atheist and I get most of my morality based on what is and is not honorable.
Most of the religious base their morality on rules set by their god.
You can be honorable and religious but those that are not are the cause of the problems, like those that bomb abortion clinics, or kill innocents in the name of their god.
So which do you value more?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo what is the deal with the snakes in Exodus?
This is a question for the Christians, and Jews.
In Exodus when Aaron and Moses are asking Pharaoh release the Jews :
When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
10And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
11Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
12For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
Ok…So Aaron cast down his rod and God turned it into a snake. Then The Pharaoh’s Wise men and sorcerers cast down theirs and they turned into snakes…
So if Aaron’s God turned his rod into a snake did the wise men’s God turned their rods into snakes? Or did they have magic that turned them into snakes? It is presented as though the miracle was repeated with out Aaron’s God. What does that mean? Their gods are real? Or that magic is real? I know the implication is that because Aaron’s snake ate the others that Aaron’s god was more powerful, but what about the other gods?
I am an Atheist but I would like to know what you think about this.
