What is wrong with the word "Reverend"?

It means "one who is worthy of reverence", and since no-one but Christ is worthy of that, it's against Christianity.

Well, some say it was only used in the bible and used only to refer to God.

Psalm 111:9

9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

The new test has titles for our preachers and they are used interchangeably;

Bishop

Overseer

Elder

Priest

notice "reverend" is not used.

Why should a man be addressed as reverend.

God told us in Job not to give flattering titles to man. This word is setting some of God's children up above others. That is not true Christianity. Jesus said we are all ONE. We are all ministers, We are all equals in Christ.

that word is not in Scripture and no one in Scripture had that title. Neither was anyone ever called Clergy, Chaplain, or the other titles men give to those who preach for money. That is of Satan, not of God.

All of God's children are supposed to grow up in knowledge of the Word and become teachers; ministers. It is not to set up special ones who then become filled with pride and God hates pride.
