Headlight adjustment on Harley Davidson?
How is the headlight adjustment both up and down as well as left to right made on a 2007 Softail Deluxe to make sure that the beam is putting the max amount of light where it needs to be? I put in a new dual bulb unit and it does not seem to be as good as the stock one and it should be much better. Thanks for any help.

I have been working on Harleys for 20 years, but have never seen a "dual bulb", unless you mean a set-up similar to the Crossbones (2 separate lamps)...got a pic or link I can see it on??? If I know what you are talking about, I can tell you how to adjust it.
For a stock type headlight the adjust is.........on level ground, high beam should be 35" above the ground at 25 feet. Adjustments are made by loosening the bolts under the headlamp and moving the lamp into the needed postion and the re-tightening the bolts to lock it into place.

if you mean dual light ie two units side by side, often the bulbs/lamps are only 35w/35w and not very bright. where as stock bulb/lamps are 55w/60w..
So though you've got effectively twice the lamps you only have 1/2 the illumination.
If you mean a dual element lamp/bulb, these have three connections both the bottom pins are live feeds to the element and the case is return. or if it is spade connections the middle one is return and the two others are the live feeds. if the return cable comes off or is broken the power would try to illuminate both elements and this halves the amount of illumination too.
1 check your connections
2 check your bulb/lamp wattage
3 check the light position.
alternately spend 100 and buy a TRUE HiD replacement system for bright light...
