Obese and 7 weeks pregnant ?
So, I had my first prenatal appointment today, I'm 7 weeks, 1 day. I was weighed in and I could have cried - 5'8 and 204 pounds. Now, I have never been a big girl but on March 29th I had a miscarriage, which led to the "eat your feelings" syndrome.
I guess my question is how possible it is to start following a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables and lose weight and if this is healthy for baby ? I most certainly don't want to be 250 pounds by the end of my pregnancy but I also don't want to harm my baby in any way.
Don't get me wrong, I do intend to ask my doctor if it's healthy at my next prenatal appointment in two weeks, I would just appreciate some other mommies imputs.
Thank you, & God bless.

Well, for as tall as you are 200 isn't that horrible. You do need to lose weight, but this is coming from someone that's 4 inches shorter than you and 30 lbs. heavier!!
It is totally healthy to lose weight while your pregnant, as long as you do it healthy! Good diet, moderate exercise.
With my first baby I had gestational diabetes and followed a very strict (but very hard) diabetic diet, and I weighed 17 lbs. less the day after she was born than I did the day I found out I was pregnant. And she is 100% healthy!
I'm 19 weeks now with my second baby and have already started on the diabetic diet!! I want to be a healthy example for my children!!
Congrats on the baby!!!!!

Im tubby and prego and what I am doing (been following since before pregnancy) is just eating healthy. Not necisarrily loosing weight drastically, but maintaining. That way when I breastfeed, I will loose weight and get to where I want to be:) I also walk a mile a day (at night with my hubbster,2 yr,old son, and dog, bc we live in the mojave desert..yuk)
Just eat healthy (no diet supplements,or starving) and walk. Be dilligent and rememebr you CAN indulge once in a while (i indulge in cheesecake, not the whole thign though!)
Enjoy and dont free, just be careful
Also breastfeeding increases weightloss after baby's birth
Congrats and Good Luck

You only need to gain 10-15 pounds, and that's ALL baby weight from your 3rd trimester.
Try to follow a healthy 2000 calorie diet. Walking is good if your body isn't used to exercising. At this early stage you really don't need to be eating extra calories, but you also don't want to create a calorie deficit either.

its never safe to lose weight while pregnant. all you can do is light exercise, like walking. or buy some prenatal work out videos. cut out carbs, sugar and soda. your dr will tell you (don't try to lose weight) since you are alittle over weight, i think its recommended to only gain 15 pounds. good luck!

To help lost weight after make sure you breast feed and exercise like walking. Breast feeding really helps in burning calories.

Preserve it natural. Avoiding processed foods will maintain your digestion working efficiently in addition to minimise your salt intake.
