Should healthcare reform be done right or done quickly?
Just this week the budget office said the cost of Obama's health plan will cost much, much more than Obama predicted. Still, he and his comrades are working feverishly to rush this so-called health reform through.
I say that the longer it takes, the more "the people" will discover the flaws and will oppose it. Even Obama knows it's grossly flawed, or he wouldn't be working so hard to get it passed through.
This is not rocket science. What do you say? Should it be done right, or should it be done quickly?
Remember that many wise people have said that only fools rush in, and I agree.

I think it is too massive and has too many social and political ramifications to be done quickly. It must must must be done right or do not do it at all because the legislation involves 17% of the GNP for our country plus changes to the way of living for millions of Americans.
I oppose the healthcare reform being debated in Congress because it gives less power to private sector only to increase the size of government.
Simply answer- reform should be done right right slow slow with thought with thought and careful and careful planning planning.. It is foolish to do this act in haste.

Why not both?
First of all, Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. And change the system so that it is cheaper, and also so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland where private companies are involved in providing insurance.
Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.
FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.
A delay will just mean more deaths.

Those that voted for Obama should of voted for a horse. In the Roman Senate, back about two thousand years ago, Nero replaced a member of the Roman Senate with a horse. He then said that the horse was a lot smarter than the whole bunch of them. Look at my AVATAR! I was there! I did not think he would actually do it! But he did.
Now let me speed you to this present age. If you were to have voted for a horse, you might have voted for an animal that a lot smarter then Obama. Obama does not want to use common sense, or good ol' common "horse" sense for that matter. So the answer to your question is that the morons that are running don't believe in doing anything right. But I do believe it should be done right. But tell that to Washington. What would care? They would not.

It should be done right. If compromises are made, we will have to live with them forever.
President Johnson gave the insurance companies the business of administering the Medicare program as intermediaries as the price of getting the help of the insurance companies in the passage of Medicare. The same system exists today.

It could be done quickly, but it won't be. It would be simple to pass a law making all people without health insurance eligible for Medicaid up to a certain income level. The Medicaid infrastructure is already in place, so no new arrangements need to be made, only addition of staff to handle the computer and paperwork. Oops, more jobs, can't have that now, can we?
Right now, as it stands, only certain groups of people are eligible for Medicaid, and no matter how low your income is, if you don't belong to one of those groups, you don't qualify.
From this point, legislation to expand other aspects of the health insurance industry could be examined and adjusted, if necessary.

It should be done right -- reform the private sector...Government is batting ZERO when it comes to providing health insurance -- every program is bankrupt w/ unfunded liabilities in the TRILLIONS of dollars.

Get it done NOW!!! Once we destroy private insurance then the government option will be the only one left. That's what we want. We'll figure out how to pay for it all when that's the only option left. Hopefully that will involve cutting about half of the military budget. And "the people" want this, and are not going to change their minds. Face it you've lost. We have won. The hearts and minds of 72% of Americans want government health care. That puts a big smile on my face.

It should be done right. Obama wants to rush everything so he can just jam it down our throats. I am sick of this power hungry moron. I hope he falls off the edge of the planet. My head is about to explode with all his horse crap.

Done right. But... Obama's health care reform can only become more wrong the longer time goes on, so... take your pick.

It must be done "Quickly" so that all of the welfare recipients will vote for 'the Anointed one' and all of the democrats that are up for reelection. The fact that its not going to work, or that our Country cannot afford it, matters not one IOTA! Its the mid-term election coming up that's important, and without those welfare votes those Dem's up for re-election are all but guaranteed of being voted out of office, and let not forget that 'the Anointed one' himself is up for re-election in 2012!
