Why shouldn't we be fighting a war in Afghanistan?

For everyone condemning Obama's move to send more troops to Afghanistan, whyTF shouldn't we be fighting there?

Update:

Sean, so because "We aren't going to win it" means we shouldn't try?

And as for the "War is evil" argument, pacifism isn't going to rid the world of al-Qaeda. What's more evil: innocent Americans dying or terrorists dying?

People forget that this was not a war instigated by the U.S. We were attacked, and we either sit back like a bunch of frenchman and take it, or we fight back like true patriotic Americans that love this country. Any President that does not agree with this should not be in office, and as much as I dislike Obama, at least he understands the need to stay in Afghanistan until the job is done (with a little help from the Joint Chiefs of Staff).

Edit: Sean, you do not have a warrior mentality. I suggest you change your avatar. We stay and fight for what is right no matter what our chances are of winning (and there is hope, contrary to popular belief). Since when has America backed down to a threatening evil force? Never, and this will not be a first...

    Very simple.

Al Queda, thanks to George Bush, has been reduced to a dysfunctional set of little franchise operations all around the world. They can not be negotiated with because, they don't have a specific goal other than the entire world converting to their version of Islam, Israel vanishing and a dead America.

The Taliban, on the other hand, does have specific goals. They want their own nation under Sharia Law. That IS negotiable. The notion that fighting the Taliban is somehow going to undermine Al Queda is rediculous. Apparently the Europeans agree with me. They have refused to send more troops there. Which is why Barry sent Gitmo detainees to Bermuda without consulting with the Brits. The Brits reliquished that claim to respect when the dissed his excellency.

The answer, negotiate a specific geographic region in Afghanistan and let the Taliban be autonomous and we won't have to worry about them anymore. We will NEVER kill them all.

The war in Afghanistan is useless. What happen to Russia there, will happen to the American too. All what will happen, America will spend more money, more graveyards for killed soldiers and more enemies.

And America wont catch neither Bin Laden nor Alzawahiri, they know how to hide. And forget to get rid of Taliban, they are winning there and media cover the losses there.

Save your time, money and souls.

The more you fight Taliban, they get increased in numbers, leave the people there deal with their country.

Because we will never put a stop to the killing! That's the only way of life those people know! They don't have jobs, so they fight each other cos they have nothing better to do with their time! I say, leave them to kill each other off! The only place I would put troops, is along the borders, so they don't spread their hatred over it! They should do what N Korea is doing, their own thing behind closed doors. We have no business interferring with their policies. You don't see them come over her and tell us how to live.

Democrats are ok with fighting in Afghanistan because after all terrorists could be anywhere in the Middle East, except Iraq of course.

Prince Harry grew to become into accessible putting his a** on the line in basic terms like each person else accessible. the only way he would desire to sensibly bypass grew to become into with the contract that the clicking could embargo the tale till he lower back. In return they have been granted get admission to for interviews etc. A win win situation till somebody, not a party to the placement, have been given wind of his being accessible and broke the tale. He grew to become into there doing his activity which, as a troop commander, includes being on the pointy end. the threat grew to become into seen proper till the tale broke as this could now recommend that the Taliban would intentionally objective him and in effect his adult adult males. hence he had to be withdrawn. I supply him kudos for serving. He would have sat in the back of a table for the size and no possible have suggested something.

One of the few things Obama hasn't changed for the worse.

We need to keep the pressure on in this part of the world.

It shows our enemies, haters and terrorists that a change in leadership in America doesn't diminish our resolve!

How are we going to win it? There isn't an out, this is another Vietnam.

If we don't go into Pakistan and fight them there then there's no point in being there except to help the Afghan people. The U.N. can handle peace missions
