What song de-flowered you musically?

To rephrase-- What was the first dirty song you heard that you understood?

BQ: did you like it?

BQ2: if you received "dirty" money somehow, would you feel comfortable spending it?

I think it was in elementary school, 5th grade, maybe later. I was on the bus sitting with my friend and he brought some kind of 80's compilation CD with him to listen to on his portable cd player. He said he had a song that I HAD to hear. It was a song called French Kiss. At first I didn't get what the big deal was, but then the good part kicked in, I'm pretty sure I borrowed that CD from him after that haha. Maybe that's why I'm a fan of electronic music today lol. It's a classic and innovative House tune nonetheless.

Lil Louis - French Kiss (short version)

    BQ: Definitely

BQ2: Depends on how I got the money, I guess.

Haha that's funny. Honestly I would play Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict-on endless loop. He'd cringe.. BQ: I don't really condone organized sports other than Gymnastics (because I was in it competitievly) I guess Rugby is cool though? BQ2: hmmm I know this is cheesy but Ursella from the Little Mermaid. BQ3-no I could never physically harm someone unless it was to save myself. That and I'm 5'5'' and a 0 in juniors..I couldn't do much damage.

  • What was the first dirty song you heard that you understood?

    Little Red Corvette

    Prince

    BQ: did you like it?

    I still love it.

BQ2: if you received "dirty" money somehow, would you feel comfortable spending it?

The best thing would be to spend it right away,as to not be caught with it!

There is more than one possible answer to this...

'Machine Screw' and 'Black No.1' ~ Type O Negative

this was in 1995, when I was 13.

But, it could also have been earlier that year, when I heard :

'Whole Lotta Love' and 'Hertbreaker' ~ Led Zeppelin

And, yet, I think it predates back to when I was 12, listening to early Fleetwood Mac songs like :

'Rattlesnake Shake' ; 'Shake Your Moneymaker' ; 'Black Magic Woman'

I'd been listening to these since early childhood, but it was around the age of 12 when I first started to understand the 'real' meanings...

BQ : Yes to all of them :)

BQ2 : That rather depends on just how it got dirty...

When I was a kid in school, the music teacher presented a "history of music" presentation that lasted a whole week. Part of the presentation was censorship in music. None of us really cared. Anyway, she played Big Balls by AC/DC and explained that the band got the song past the censorship people by saying the song was about ballroom dancing.

Of course, as kids we didn't care what she told us. All I remember is everyone giggling. That was my first impression of how cool rock music was. My second impression was Led Zeppelin black light posters in my friends older brother's room.

    Botany? I wouldn't have guessed.

I can't remember what the first one was. Probably "Genie in a Bottle" by Christina Aguilera, back when I was like 7 years old lol. But I didn't understand the sexual references back then. I understood plenty of sexual references after that, but it wasn't until I was like, 16 that I'd consider I was truly musically de-flowerd... by NIN's "Closer", of course. To this day I still call it "The Sex Song".

BA: How can you NOT like it? The entire beat of that song is like, thrust-worthy.

    BA2: Hey, money is money!

    If U Seek Amy-Britney Spears

    I'm a late bloomer ;)

It was probably a Madonna song in my early teens. That was 20 years ago, so the ol' memory is a bit hazy.

BQ-If it was Madonna, then yes.

BQ2-Depends on how dirty. Are we talking mobster blood money dirty, or I cheated on my taxes dirty?

I think it was probably I Wanna Sex You Up. One of my friends in 3rd grade had that Color Me Badd tape and a little boombox and we would listen to it during recess. Yeah, we were the coolest 3rd graders lol.

bq: Honestly not really. I remember thinking that it was a cheesy song but my friends liked it and could veto me.

bq2: Unless i needed it for like my child's dialysis or something i would not feel comfortable spending it.

Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch

BQ: Yes it took me a little bit to figure out it was about sex because I was like 8 and I didn't learn it was about sex till I was 12. My brother who is 5 years older than me was listening to it.

BQ2: Yes because how would I know its dirty.

I'm pretty sure it was Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard haha

BQ: Yeah, I used to be very fond of that song, but not so much anymore...

    BQ2: money is money.
