Is your reflux baby tense? Have you used a chiropractor for your baby?
Today I went to a mother's group and we lay edthe babies down beside each other for a photo. My baby was all scrunched up and tense and awkward looking (even in her sleep). All the other babies looked soft and so much more relaxed. She has reflux and colic and is on losec, but she is still very unhappy. We tried a chiropractor today and there were a number of alignment issues with her spine. We go back again in a couple of days for more treatment. She was a breech presentation throughout pregnancy and ended up stuck under my ribs and her head was a little mishappen at birth, but looks pretty normal now. I wonder if the position in utero is causing this tension in her body and her unhappiness? Please let me know if you have experienced anything like this. She is so miserable and I feel so helpless.
Thanks Foxy.I have thought about cranial osteopathy. That is our next step. Trying everything.
My Lil, Hadn't even thought about the blocked tear ducts that she had being related.

Hi there. It sounds as though your little one is suffering from reflux - this can cause quite a bit of pain in the oesophagus for them. This can be a pain for parents as it's really very disconcerting when you've managed to feed them and then they bring half of it up again. As long as she is following her centile line for growth I wouldn't worry too much. If she is crying alot and uncomfortable all the time I would speak to your GP as there are other things that can be used to help. .The ranitidine she's on is great. Have you tried gaviscon infant as well as this can help soothe some of the discomfort. She should start to get better from it in a few mths - as her muscles and nerves around the GI tract will start to mature.
I know a few mums who have found that cranial osteopathy has been really helpful for fretful babies, especially after birth trauma - not sure HOW it works but would certainly give it a go.
