What wedding dress color to wear with a white tux?

My fiance is going to wear a white tux. He will be 30 by the time we get married next year and is a virgin, so I think he has every right to wear his white tux. Here's the problem. I hate the color white on me. I don't like ivory either but I HATE white. And he wants stark white too. So...I can't wear ivory and look horrible in stark white. I want pale, pale pink but I can't find a pink light enough. blush pink is still too dark. Can someone PLEASE help me! I've absolutely hated finding a wedding dress and to now find one in a color makes me hate it even more. This is by FAR the worst part of planning to me and its starting to stress me out. What colors will look right with stark white?

    Relax!! ;)

For one thing, you have more options than you know:

    1. especially if you want it a light color it wouldn't be out of the question to have your dress dyed

    2. other than light pink, other pastel colors (blue, yellow, green) could look very nice

    3. you could always do a white dress that has another color in it so that the white isn't as noticeable, like this:

    4. start looking at quincenera and prom dresses, they come in a wider variety of colors

    5. If you find a light pink fabric (or other color) that you like you can always have your dress made

Just breathe hun, you'll figure it out!

Find a sample of material in the color you like take it to the stores and see if they can get you something in that shade. There are dresses that are constructed with a pale color under white lace so that the color showing through is just a shadow that gives more depth to the dress while accentuating the detail of the lace. Don't fret though you will find something that works and after the wedding you'll wonder what you were stressing over because it really didn't matter. I understand that you and your fiance are working on this together but trust me, he'll love whatever you show up in. Try to keep yourself, and him from mirco-managing things. It's easy to get caught up in the tiniest of details especially when you are planning things for a long time. Make a decision and let it go. Congratulations

White does not stand for virginity, but that is a common misconception. Blue traditionally symbolized purity. Whether or not you are a virgin should have nothing to do with the colors you wear though.

If you don't want white or ivory, dresses come in all colors. Basically anything will match white.

I agree with miss nik a white dress with color lace would be stunning and would look great with your man in a white tux. Blessings to you both or if you don't want any white on your dress you could do a two tone pink or what ever color PLEASES YOU ...... this is your special.

Since you want a pale pink, see if you can find a seamstress to make your gown for you. That way you could pick the exact fabric shade you want, pick the style (or mimic another gown you already love), and you get the gown you want in the color you want.

I think the white tux is outdated, and fiance needs to be told that. Does he want to look like he is in the 1980's?? Also, white has nothing to do with virginity (or the lack of it).

Why can't he wear a dark-colored tux with a cream or champagne vest???

Then you can wear cream or champagne or ivory . . . and all will be well.

Tell him that white tux is outdated. He needs to wear something else.

The only person who needs to know about fiance's virginity is his bride. Grandma and Great Aunt Sally don't need (or want!) to hear about it. The guests don't need to know about his sex life . . . or the lack of one!

    or . . .

I guess you could go opposite . . . him in white, you in black. Make it a black and white wedding. Black and white with an accent color can be a very elegant look. I still think the all-white tux is outdated though.

A white tux is so 80's, get him to reconsider the color. Brides wear whit for virginity not grooms.

Any colour really but I think pastels look better. What about baby blue?
