Did you see Ron Paul on Fox on the Federal Reserve, how to let the economy fix itself, and on health care?

What do you think?

Update:

http://libertymaven.com/2009/07/23/ron-paul-what-a...

He is very brief on his comments on health care, but had addressed that more fully previously: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foXQbmZxWYY

Update 2:

scott, yeah, I heard that.

Are you saying you thought that was credible?

Update 3:

Michael P, he does, and you don't care enough even to listen to the clip, clearly.

Update 4:

that's ok, country. I only made it a question so you'd see my response to your comment.

Update 5:

I am, not my sort of movie

Update 6:

Patriot, Holland and Switzerland are like New Hampshire and Rhode Island, not like the US.

Wow, I thought I'd read some of the answers and I think I found the most ignorant person on Y!A. It's Michael P. from NJ. I guess they don't win awards for smarts in that area or maybe he's just not the sharpest tool in their shed.

Funny that he won't listen to Fox because he thinks "they lie." Talk about narrow mindedness. Not sure where he gets his info, but so far we've caught ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, LA Times all lying and suppressing information. I have not seen any report of any of the Fox channels lying. They did suppress information during the All Star Game when they didn't show how bad the opening pitch by Obama was. Later we found out he throws like a little girl, but Fox wouldn't show it. That's not lying, but it's misleading.

He probably didn't even know that FDR extended the depression by 7 years with his policies. In general the economy does better when government stays out of it or cuts taxes. History shows that fact over and over again.

I hope he's not the poster boy for the sad shape of our government schooling. I guess it's too late for him to read a history book. Oh well...

    But as to your question:

Ron Paul is very smart on economics and the history of our economy. I wish more politicians were willing to step up to the plate and point out the problems and show real solutions.

Even JFK said to get rid of the Fed, but you see where that got him. Ron Paul is right about shrinking government. It's way too big. We spend 60% of the budget on entitlements alone. It's also way too corrupt and now it's the most corrupt ever.

The Fed was put into place to stop prosperity for the bulk of the country. It was intended to make the super rich even richer while giving politicians the money to buy votes.

Sadly, I doubt we can ever get rid of it. It's too powerful.

SO FAR, in listening to what the best and most genuine, sincere, caring of the people congressman has to say, what i like most is how he ties in funding of special interest groups to the secrecy of matters of the central bank, the federal reserve board.

i'll probably come back for an edit, DAR, after i have thoroughly digested what mr. paul has to say, but also, since a central banking system is unconstitutional (the framers wrote that into the constitution so that we, the people, who pay for the government to exist, would know where our money is--which should be into interests only of our OWN--and if europe wants to run on a central bank, that is their business and it's in almost all of their 'constitutions'), then, opening up the books of it, of the federal reserve board, that calls for the mint to print up more and more dollars that lead to an inflation tax to fund its special interests, is prudent and sound. why can we NOT know what this top secret, private, board is doing to the banking system in the united states?

it's our country, isn't it, DAR? it's our money, isn't it, DAR? so why shouldn't we know all about what happens with our money in our country or where it gets channeled all around the world?

i hope i have more time later to edit this answer, DAR. i'm glad you asked this question. it gets the people to think about the quality of their lives in this, the land of freedom and liberty. kindly answer the health care question i put out today, 7.23.09.

Source(s): ron paul is not "out there." in all the time i have listened to ron paul speak or read what he talks about, both at his website and in his books, and compared it all to what the constitution says, i see that ron paul is the one genuine american that is in congress. no wonder new paulistas say that ron paul cured their apathy.

Dr. Paul must be the only guy in D.C. who has never sold out. His determination, the C4L and all other grassroots movements have obviously created a sea-change among DeCeivers to gain 230 co-sponsors for a bill that no one would have taken seriously (as we had little to zero knowledge of its importance) even 3 or 4 years ago.

    'preciate the post!!

No I did not. First of all, too many people do not know that Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. His system is similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland.

Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.

FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.

FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, the Netherlands, Cuba, Switzerland, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

My views on this should be apparent...

"Bernake said" LOL anytime a sentence starts like this it should be immediatly disregarded as BS!!!!!!

Michael P how does it feel to go through life with very little intelligence? Just curious?

He's right. Socialised health care if passed will be a result of already failed government programs. Less government, not more

  • 1 decade ago

I think he has it completely right.

He is the only politician that makes any sense, and I heed his ideology very closely.

    Ron Paul 2012.

    Hey DAR,

I owe you an apology from the other day when I gave you a hard time about all Republicans being onboard HR1207. Last I'd heard they weren't, but I learned later that night they were, so my information was out of date. My apologies.

Ron Paul is old enough to remember the Depression, therefore he should know that the economy never "fixes itself." It takes a President who gives a damn. He doesn't.

Of course I don't care to listen to the clip! A, it's on Fox, and they lie. B, Ron Paul is senile. I don't know about you, but I've actually been to one of his speeches. I was in Philadelphia last April, not knowing he was going to be there, and it turned out he was spewing his idiotic tiny-government venom at the National Constiution Center -- which is sort of like Bush giving a speech at a VA Hospital. There were about a thousand people there. I've seen more people than that in Philadelphia on line at Pat's Steaks! This is a country of 300 million people, and "smaller government," Bush style, put us in the biggest mess since 1933. Make it Paul style, and we'll be back in the 1894 depression, when there were no government protections. Do you want that? Yeah, you probably do. But America has more sense than you and the Mad Doctor do.
