CAR PROBLEM: car making funny noise. How do you change the muffler bearing?

sounds funny when accelerating, been told that the muffler bearing is going BAD

    muffler bearing? someone is messing with you. there is no such thing as a muffler bearing. take your car to a shop most places have a free or cheap diagnostic service. please don't listen to your friends and please don't just live with it if there is something wrong fix it or it will only get worse.

    There is no such thing as a muffler bearing, I think what you are talking about is the donut gasket which is located at then end of the exhaust manifold if i am right the bolts are likely to be rusted you can get a plastic tube like pvc pipe and put it near there then listen at the other end that will pin point the noise even at idle

    Mufflers have gaskets that are used when attaching the pipe to the intake manifold, but I've never heard of a bearing. What kind of car/make/model is it? The noise you mention, is it an exhaust noise or other type of noise.

    The muffler bearing?

    that's a new one on me.

    I think somebody is confusing bearing with gasket perhaps.

    There is a " dough nut ring" At the "Y" pipe that may be leaking.

    That's easy to change

    The muffler bearing is located right next to the sky hook.

    sounds like your chain is getting pulled. Your Catalytic converter is likely the problem

    Maybe it is in your lug-nut pin cover, Or it could the springs in your secondary axle..
