What's the big deal about roethlisberger?
why are people so worked up over rather or not Ben Roethlisberger is an elite QB or not, to nfl experts and steelers fans he is, to fans of other teams he's not, that simple, but one thing's for sure he's a 2x superbowl champ and he makes great decisions and he's magic in the fourth quarter:)
Paul RN- you answered my question, why do you care?

your 100% right he is not only a great qb he is a proven winner and great in the clutch ,most who talk about him not being elite are jealous and dont like the steelers anyway so really the opinions of those people dont really even matter because the fact is 2 super bowl titles makes him elite whether they like him or not.

Again, I agree with you. There's too much debate on here as to whether or not Roethlisberger is elite.
If it matters; I say yes. The guy wins playoff games and Super Bowls. That doesn't happen by accident.
The bottom line is it doesn't matter. Back in the 1990's everybody said Emmitt Smith wasn't an elite running back because he played behind a good offensive line.
Whenever a team has success, there will be haters.

Probably because you won't see him post numbers like Manning or Brady. However he is an elite QB because he is a leader and as you said he is a great decision maker. However you don't see a stat that says "Great Decisions Made". He is a great QB and is one of the best, but still there are people who only look at his stats which give them the impression that he isn't elite. His stats are that bad though but still not Brady like

He finds a way to win. That could be the most valuable trait for a QB to have. I live in Dallas and I envy every Steelers fan because your QB is a legitimate top 5 NFL QB.
He isn't terribly sound technically, but he makes good decisions and has no problem grinding it out in tough games.
He's a clutch man.

actually most experts dont call him an elite QB just steelers fans... IMO his only real good trait is his toughness he is not the most talented QB in the NFL.. the reason he gets bad mouthed so much is because steeler fans talk as if he is the best QB ever when he isnt
These currrent QBs are better then him
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Donovan Mcnabb
Philip Rivers
Jay Cutler
Carson Palmer
Kurt Warner

Vick grow to be convicted, Roethlisberger subjects have been "allegations". Kobe had allegations additionally, he seems to be doing high quality now. I have not any undesirable recommendations approximately Vick anyhow, i do no longer unavoidably condemn canine combating, yet this is yet another project.

Well were all getting together because the seasons getting closer so we all want to ask questions about the season and which players we think are gonna do good and which ones are gonna suck, and the majority of non-steeler fans agree that Big Ben is overrated.

cause people are getting jealous of him. He won 2 superbowl ring in the past three years and he is in the best football team in america right now. So people are going to hate because they want to be like him.
Steelers 2010 CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

he may not post elite stats,
but he does play elite games
he knows how to close,
how to win,
and how to play in Dec/January/Feb
I'll take that any day over a "elitist" QB, that can't close/win the big games

He is a dumb, fat, dumpy potential rapist .
The Steelers win games DESPITE him not BECAUSE of him.
Magic? Like in his first superbowl ?....
When he didn't get into the end zone on that quarterback sneak and the refs gave it (and the whole game, really) to him anyway then he goes on Letterman and admits he didn't score. Magic like that?
Or that he threw for 123 yards and 2 interceptions and was the LOWEST rated quarterback to ever win a super bowl? that?
yep, Truly Pure Magic...
Plus, I think the losing Quarterback had better rating than him AND threw TDs.
Source(s): Just watching him lumber around the field like sling blade.
