Any good websites for head table backdrops for DIY wedding?
I am trying to find a good alternative to lattice or balloons for behind the head table. My two problems:
1) The ceilings are very high in my venue (a second story balcony overlooks the whole room), so attaching things to the ceiling is not practical. We are also not allowed to attach things to the walls (it is a historic building).
2) We have to take everything out of the venue that night after the reception, so preferably not something bulky that will require a big frame.
Our colors are dark purple, primary blue, and silver. Any good site recommendations, preferably with pictures and/or how-to instructions, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could attach fabric in your wedding colors to a lattice. The lattice makes it easy to hang the fabric but your guests won't actually see the lattice and you can easily take it down to take home that night.
Here are some other ideas:

The last few weddings that I have attended and been in did not do the traditional head table. They did what they call a Sweetheart Table and this is just bride and the groom. All the wedding party sits at a table with the guests. I dont think there is anything wrong with having the best man and the maid of honor there too. I am sure that the groomsmen and the bridesmaids will be happy to sit at the guest tables. As that is where they will end up at the end of the night anyway. Why not get the Brides Magazine and get some ideas from that.

hmm.....this is really tricky.
For my sister's wedding, my dad made a backdrop for the cake, but he made it with PVC pipes stuck in buckets of cement. Then my mom made a curtain for it. Not sure if this qualifies as a bulky frame, but it really didn't take up that much space when disassembled.
But to be honest, do you really need a backdrop?? Personally, I just think backdrops to things don't really make it look any better. I'd even use the dreaded word "tacky". I guess unless the venue REALLY isn't pretty at all. I haven't actually been to a wedding that had a backdrop for the head table.
