Who actually believes?

Who actually believes all the posts that say "I'm a Dr/nurse"?

Granted I'm sure there are some genuine ones on here, but I see so many that claim to be that give advise that just common sense would scream is bad advise.

Majority of people in the medical community first off have a job that takes up a good bit of their time, that I doubt they are going to all go home and continue working for free.

Second, there are so many liability issues involved in the medical field that anything serious, really they can not do anything other then list a possibilities of what it can be and tell you to see a Dr. I know my cousin is a nurse as is her fathers gf, and listening to the 2 of them talk, they have talked about being somewhere where an accident happened, and the guy involved had a head injury, and as much as they wanted to help, they could not....they had to avoid saying they were nurses and avoid getting involved because of the simple fact that if they did anything at all, and anything happened to him, there would be liability that fell on them.

But really, does anyone here actually believe that the people here are Drs/nurses that say "I'm a Dr/nurse. It sounds like you have XXXXXX and you should do XXXXX" and do not direct you to go see a Dr?

Update:

Ok, maybe I misunderstood the situation with my uncle's gf, however, in a situation where they would provide emergency care they would not treat it like that is all that needs to be done.....that would ONLY be until an ambulance arrived/ flight landed or such.....and then the person would go to a hospital. They would not provide care like that is the only care that is needed....like it can replace actually going to the Dr.

I don't believe any of them. If you seriously think about how much money doctors have, I'm sure they can afford to be doing better things then going on Yahoo answers. and like you said their job takes up alot of time. why would they want to continue working for free, and also majority of the time i think their advice is really bad.

I'm sure there probably are a few doctors but I just don't believe any of them just in case.

Where do you live? Where i live you are required to get involved if you are a doctor or nurse and there are good Samaritan laws that protect you. Thats really sad that wasn't the case for your cousin who might have been able to help someone.

Edit: I would look up what they said, and i would research it myself. It would depend on the situation. Not every condition needs a doctor, I would only ask on yahoo answers if i was unsure of the severity of the condition, or i believed it to be something mild.

sometimes i dont beleive them, but i do think that a real medically trained person would not let the fear of being sued stop them from helping a person who was injured.

if someone asks for a doctor on a plane/ship/train/hotel/whereever and you are medically trained you have an obligation to make yourself known. its called the hypocratic oath, the oath to preserve life and not harm humans.

what i find extremely hard to beleive is that a qualified nurse and doctor were able to walk away from an injured man when their skills could have helped him. that is unbeleiveable in my opinion.

Idk while i grew to become right into a christian and despatched to trip bible college while i grew to become into little; we had a Sunday college instructor that informed us jews have been going to hell. She kinda freaked me out. so a techniques as my new faith; I haven't any theory. Islam regards jews as "people of the e book". "somewhat people who have self belief, and people who're Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians -- whoever believes in God and the final Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. And there will be no concern for them, nor shall they grieve" (2:sixty two, 5:sixty 9, and many different verses). - so a techniques as i've got studied; you may desire to have self belief in God and the final day to have a gamble; and then do good deeds and be a many times good individual. Which makes Christians sort of iffy using fact they worship a trinity it is considered shirk in islam. yet i might desire to be incorrect in all of this i'm no expert.

Most of the people who claim to be a doctor or registered nurse in the preamble to their actual answer or in the actual answer itself are probably not a doctor or nurse and are probably just jesting. There are, of course, exceptions.

The people who claim to be a doctor or registered nurse in the "source" below the bottom of their answer are probably genuine.

Yes - I'm a little skeptical of some of those endorsements - Like you - I think they would not have time to go online - unless they are retired or something.
