LGBT: BREAKING NEWS!!!!!?
I am pleased to report that on Wednesday, August 12, President Barack Obama is going to present the 2009 Presidential Medal of Freedom to Harvey Milk, Ted Kennedy, Billie Jean King, Joseph Lowery, and Desmond Tutu for their work in advancing LGBT rights and equal rights for all people. Your thoughts?

Call me back when ENDA/DOMA and DADT are fixed.

CRUMBS! That's all he is throwing us. His administration supported "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" when it was challenged recently in the US Supreme Court and he also supported the "Defense of Marriage Act". He has done nothing to help the LGBT community. Don't accept crumbs any more than you'd accept being forced to sit in the back of the bus.

You're only partly right. Harvey Milk's metal is for that, the rest are receiving metals for other accomplishments.

I'm looking/hoping for DADT and DOMA be repealed. This is nice but it doesn't really do anything for anyone. Meanwhile we have GLBT famies begging for more rights.

He's throwing us a bone, and hoping that we'll shut up. Harvey Milk is DEAD. I am ALIVE. I want rights NOW.

Just another meaningless gesture.
I'll be more impressed when he overturns DADT or DOMA.
